Today was a great day. I had so much fun presenting my leopard tortoise to the public during our CTTC Turtle Show. I met many people, shared lots of great info and even met some awesome TFO members
Here are some pictures of what my table looked like and the info I shared.
I set up the table the night before.
I wrote out my own care sheet on the humid way I have raised my leopard. I also made my own TFO business cards to pass out. Josh eventually sent me some "real" TFO cards and I shared them with the table next to me (another member) to pass some of those ones out.
2 notebooks of pictures I had to show vistors
Some "Did you know?" fact sheets I made to display. Some were very happy to talk about these. Others weren't
My table
The display box built by my husband/decorated by me. It's made to resemble my outdoor pen with the lip around the top and the color. I used brown material for "dirt" and added a rock and fake plants.
Tom watching me talk to some visitors. I was a little nervous at first to be sharing his info right in front of him! LOL
The enclosure notebook was full of pictures. The pics included, my outdoor pen, my closed chamber and closed chambers created by other TFO members. They were fantastic examples and real eye openers to some people
*each picture used had credit to the name and general location of the owner
The pyramiding vs. smooth notebook was also full of pictures. The pics included google images of typical leopards raised dry with pyramiding. Then pictures of smooth leo's raised humid. People had jaw dropping expressions when they saw the differences!
*each picture used had credit to the name and general location of the owner
I didn't get to take as many pictures as I would have liked. But hopefully this gives you all a general idea of what my table was like. I had fun, my leopard did extremely well and I hope that some future leopards are raised better because of this.
We were invited to do the same presentation at the OC show in August. So excited to do it all over again
Thanks for looking!!
