Someone has been chewing on this turtle.

And it wasn't me.


He was brought into the wildlife center where I volunteer, but he's not native so he got to come home with me and stomp around my yard.


He's quite a bit smaller than most of my three-toes, and his legs are quite spindly compared to them. He's got three toes in the rear so I'm guessing he's a three-toe and that my turtles are just fatties.


No idea how long he's been running loose, I think a raccoon has been chewing on him. He's super-active and loves earthworms.

Lucky fella that he survived and now found you. He does look a little under weight with those legs. I'm sure he'll get lots too eat with you.

He was brought in like that, the wildlife center staff though someone had put plaster on him. Aside from being chewed and a bit skinny he's in good shape. A bit shy, and those spindly little legs sure move fast. He thinks he's a wild turtle.

He is now safely indoors for the night, in the morning he can resume roaming the turtle-proofed yard.

Couldn't find this guy on Tuesday when it was time to bring everyone in, he had a huge meal and could easily be hiding out in the yard, but I'm still checking around in case he got out. The animal shelter said one came in that day but they send all their turtles to the wildlife center where I volunteer. They had two, neither of them were mine but I brought them home anyway. Apparently it's raining box turtles around here.
