strange twitching behavior and flaking skin

My Russian Tort is twitching when he rests. His arms twitch lightly. I have no clue what's wrong. Is this normal?

And his skin is flaking, is that normal too?

sorry I post so many questions on the forums, I'm just a concerned first time mother. And I want my Jojo to be a happy and healthy little fella

Are his arms twitching, or is he just pulling them in an out a little - like a slight pumping movement? That is very normal. The flaking skin is very normal as well.

Yea, a pumping movement. Thanks, it's good to know Jojo is okay. I got him from Petsmart so I have been watching him VERY closely for ANY problems. Just want to make sure this can't become serious. :]

Tortoises shed in pieces, not in one whole piece like snakes. Their arms will pump like bellows to help in their breathing.
