Sulcata on TV

A wildlife expert brought a 45 lb sulcata on the Martha Stewart show yesterday. They had his shell waxed and buffed...it looked weird. Anyway, Martha said, " So, these aren't pets,right?". And the expert said, "No! they get far too big!". hahahaha....dummy.:D

Since it was all buffed and polished up, would that make it a high maintenance tort if it was a female? :D

He is right in one aspect - it isn't a pet for the ordinary person. Definitely takes a special person to take care of the larger species of torts.

i'm with missy, waxing and buffing a tortoise shell... lol!! i'm sure he did it to make the shell look nice and shiny and pretty for all the viewers. definitely not a pet for the average joe.
