You have to make sure the enclosure does not get to hot. I turned my MVB off. I have one CHE in the outer open enclosure area and one in the closed, humid area. The temps are in the 80's with the one CHE get to basking temps, 95. With the summer heat, things need to be readjusted.

WHat I'll do is get a long tube bulb and use that as UVB UVA for hot hot days that sound ok. Which is Che I'm not sure if I've herd of it

For inside? I have air conditioning.

For outside? They have a burrow, other cover, and I may activate a sprinkler if it is really bad.

Yea during summer it gets hotter and sometimes dry.
You want to adjust your height or temps on the lights, and maybe allow airflow.

Should not the air conditioning work better in a small room?

Maybe the machine is malfunctioning.

You can simply put whatever you think might over heat the enclosure on a thermostat. If you run a fluorescent bulb not on the thermostat and your basking bulb on the thermostat then it won't get dark but your tortoise won't over heat when the room gets too hot.
