Pretty much. They need time to get accustomed to the new surroundings and to figure it out that they are safe. Usually everything normal gets messed up for a short time till they get it figured out. Keep a closer eye out as a little weight loss is no big deal but it should not be consistent and a gain should come in soon.

How often do you weigh?
It fluctuates. So did yourself a favor and do it only once a month.
I made myself half nuts back when I did it every week. Once a month is a much better indication.

I've been trying to measure Darwin's weight/growth weekly-ish until he crosses the 100g line ... after that I'll probably chill out a bit.

Under 100g you really will drive yourself nuts weighing weekly.

A pee or a poop or a meal makes a massive difference in proportion to the weight of the tortoise at that size.

Monthly is ideal. Fortnightly if you really must!
