What's your substrate choice for Egyptians?

Curious to know what substrate everyone prefers for their egyptians?

Right now, I'm using a mix of excavator clay and reptisand (primarily reptisand) but I want to redo my Egyptians enclosure. I hear mixed things about calcium sand..it can pass through their digestive system, it can't, so I'm torn about replacing with this.

I feed greens on a feeding dish, so impaction is minimized, but small amounts of residual sand still gets on dish.

Thanks!

Have you read this? (one of the most recent sand debates that I remember):

For me, sand with calcium bits is something that invites your tortoise to eat the substrate and an unnecessary risk. There are plenty of other ways to provide calcium.

Thanks and agreed. I've heard mixed things about using calcium sand. I have cuttlebone always available in case he wants to chomp and also give a bit of calcium carbonate on his greens each week.

I'm thinking maybe purely using crushed oyster shell?
