Hi in the next year, I want to buy a smaller species of tortoise (Russian, Hermans, greek, marginated) and I wanted to know if this enclosure is good for them this tortoise will be housed indoors for their entire life I was thinking about getting 2 4 x 2 x 2 enclosures from zen habitats and connecting them with their extension kit to make an 8-foot enclosure would you say this is big enough for the species I want to keep indoors.

You would need four of them. 2x8 feet is still too small. You need closer to 4x8 feet as a minimum.

The widest the company makes is 2ft, but you can add an extra 4ft lengthwise to create a 12x2x2 enclosure. I got my Redfoot an 8x2x2 for when it’s too cold outside or too hot during our Arizona summers. Next I need ideas for an outdoor enclosure and how to maintain humidity outside in this dry AZ desert.

Tom, I watched a YouTube video where you talk about pyramiding—super interesting! My guy was at Petco for months with low humidity, which caused some pyramiding. He’s still growing, though, and I’m hoping the right setup now will stop it.
