I guess we missed a clutch, found this one by the water dish in the adult enclosure. Looks like this one might develop the yellow in his head as well. Always fun when you get these surprises. Looks like he has been out of the egg for a while.

Thanks. I have 1 that is growing totally different to the other 2. She's putting weight on at a much slower pace, and seems to be very highly domed, not as long as others. Doesn't seem to be as smooth either. Not bad, but not as smooth. She has an extra scute too, wondered if this could be a connected problem with the shape that is developing.
The photos don't do justice on her high dome shape. You can also see some creases between some of the scutes.
Your thoughts please. She eats as well as the others, and I've seen no bullying. She's about 3.5" SCL at 15months old.

That is a pretty little tortoise! I can see the high dome. Mine start low and wide and some will start getting domed around 8 months.

So you wouldnt be concerned about her size for that age. I measure and way them every month, she only gained 4grams this last month. Length was the same. She's 170grams, one of the others that came from same batch(apparently) is 364grams.

I'm too lazy for the weighing and measuring. If they eat and feel heavier than they look, I'm happy. I am the last person to ask about weight and lengths. @pfara already blew my mind with the size of her torts at two years old. Vicky hale is practicing sorcery with producing such fast growing torts or Alma is feeling the mc nuggets to her torts to get that growth!

And @Anyfoot , this is just my personal opinion, but any weight gain should never really be an issue. There was one time when Loki's Donoghue ratio was too low for my liking, so I decided to individually feed her a little more. Well, that backfired; she gained twice as much weight AND twice as much length and stayed at about the same ratio anyway. Loki has always been around 80% on that ratio (underweight for her length), but she's active and growing consistently so I try not to worry. The only time to worry, I think, is if they ever lose weight after a month or gained so much that they can't hide in their shell. I should like to think that getting that chunky is hard to pull off without noticing. Also, I should note that my smallest red (approx. same age) is half of Loki's weight and 2 inches smaller. Size does vary.
