I've finally polished the rose petal beads with some of Sapphire's coconut oil. I'm surprised I got them this far. It was crazy 😂. They were red and big 😁 now it depends on the light what color they appear and they're bead size. Yeah 👍IMG_20230521_181854370.jpg

We went up to Middletown DE Friday night to go grocery shopping and Lowes for lime but @6.50 a bag we are gonna have to empty the garage of the pesky power tools, so we can keep the lime safe & secure! Kerry got her new sliding door installed Sat and they also sealed the eve so no more animal visitors so she's real happy

I have some sad news to report on the Osprey nest we visit. We met some of the folks that live next to the nest and apparently as Kerry saw two weeks ago, a couple built the nest and mom layed the eggs. Last week, I watched mom on the eggs. Then the male never retuned................and when the male's don't return, the moms will abandon the eggs that she knows she cannot support the brood alone. She's gone now and there's an empty nest this year.View attachment 357144

Sad but we also met one of the guys that rescued the nest last year when the storm blew it over and into the water. They put in on the pier, and caught the babies too so that was neat to meet him.

Left Kerry's at noon and am just finishing laundry....beautiful out side here!
Can they get the eggs? And get fish and wildlife or someone to help. I find it hard to believe an osprey just up's and dies without man's help. A bird of prey over water doesn't have a lot of predators.

I get it, but we both know, nature has to take her course., last night Kerry told me of another nest being built on the roadside Nest box on a pole a mile from her home. She saw it when she was out to get tshirts for a class pjt so life moves on. You're right, NO ONE shoots them & we don't have windmills-we have bald eagles, windmills around them are frowned upon and unless they dive bomb a fish in 6" of water, they are getting hurt on their own...the male likely have moved on to the next girl, might even be the new "nest builder"?

That whole "camera thing" worked out great too. Sold my ZS70 to Linc(Kerry's son) for $250, he got a great deal and I got rid of it instead of it sitting on the shelf while I got ready to ebay it for 5 yrs. The new one is kind of like holding a baby nuclear reactor in your hands.....you know that if you mess with it, you can light things up, but even on Auto, it runs great.

Most phone pics look great on a phone, Kerry's iphones have been very good but I use a large high-end monitors at home, cruddy pics fall apart quickly under the "scrutiny" of my monitor and it's why I was so heartbroken after buying the ZS. MY expectations were not met, from day one and it was my own fault. This camera has blown me away. A huge purchase for me and it had to be really important to me, for me to spend 1000 to get a camera, like the one in my phone, but different. Yes, it was.

I told Kerry, I can't wait to get to Barneys (https://barneys-flower-hummingbird-garden-jamaica.business.site/?utm_source=gmb&utm_medium=referral) as we haven't seen any Hummers at Kerry's or my home. Mark reported seeing them I think about 30Miles S/W of my house a couple weeks ago but we haven't seen a single one.
You still seeing them Mark? If you are back from last weeks beech trip?

enjoy the day...

I use a Google Chromebook...It's storage is full, so I can't download any more photos. So I bought a thumbdrive...but there are no directions on the pkg, and the device has an innie for a connection...but there are no 'outties' on my computer. I have not opened the pkg ciz it looks like I'm gonna take it back. Or pay someone at Office Depoit to do it. I can't ask anyone in my family...what am I missing? When I bought it, the helper was not too helpful...lol. Ya'll know I normally post a buncha photos....can't download them now, and wait till you see my new RedFoot!!! His name is Logan...oh...and really just wait for this one!!! Mary K escaped her pen...wrecked her way thru the next pen...she broke the wooden and sorta rotten gate that was closed using a bungee cord...looks like she broke it by getting caught in the cord by pulling it out, and she ripped the damn cord in half!!! So then she stomped her way up the 7 stairs to the deck...and...well that will just have to wait for the pictures to she what she did next! She gained so much weight over the winter I cannot pick her up now! And inches...she's longer too. A freakin monster...oh yeah...so how do I use that damn thumb drive?

I've seen one hummingbird at my feeder about 2 weeks ago. But the nights are so cold I'm afraid I had one too early. I've not seen any more.😕

Maybe an SD card would work with your Chromebook to download the photos... and then a card reader that will attach to your phone to upload them. You would have to maybe have a micro SD card with an adapter. It depends on what your Chromebook will take. I almost bet it has a slot for an SD card. 🤞.

If you can't post pictures, can you put the name of the thumbdrive.

Some of the thumbdrives dont have the distinguishable connector end. The entire end fits inside the usb port.

Some of mine look like they have a female end when packaged for sale. After opening it the male end needs to be slid out. Maybe that's what you have.

These are the finished memory Rose petal bead chains for Heather and her family. I think I'll try some more rose petal beads. If you remember they started out red and sometimes they still look reddish. Or black or whatever shines back in the light.🤗IMG_20230524_142613532.jpg

I've seen a hummingbird today but it's supposed to get cold again tonight. We have what's called a backdoor cold front coming south through our state tonight. According to the weather girl on the news today.

I think we had a cold spell decimate our Eastern population Ms Cathie, I don't know that as fact but it seems to have been pretty widespread talking with my friends across several states in the last year. I think it happened last Spring. They will cycle back up over the next couple years I figure. You will appreciate this, I told Kerry that I LOVE my new camera. She told me, "in 11 years, that the 1st times you've ever said that". Cool huh? I do, it's got the tracking tech from a sidewinder missile jammed into it! It will auto-focus perfectly in .02sec and will auto-track so well, I can tell it ahead of time, WHICH EYE to track on and it will lock in so fast that it's a little scary! It even works on animals. I tracked a Turkey buzzard at 300yds, by it's eye! I'm going to get some nice shots of Matilda one of these days. Been working on her outdoor home, ratproofing it. My daughter says I still have a little ways to go and she knows rats. The solar pump/panel still work after sitting in the muck all winter....just needed cleaning.

I think I might begin the holiday w/e early. Maybe I'll work from home tomorrow at Kerry's. God I love that phrase!

The guy that retired last year is coming over with his wife for dinner over the weekend, his call when he crosses the bridge<LOL>. They have a place at the beech so they know the drill well. Funny, we worked together over 30 yrs, 3 different companies and we have never been to one another's home! Just the culture of my industry.
wrote this at 3am...never posted it, forgot. LOL

Then coming to work this morning, listening to Surrender by Cheap trick on a dark stretch north of Pointer Ridge rd on Rt 301S at my self designated 62mph- on cruise..., a black man wearing dark green shirt, dark army pant looms RIGHT in front of me in my lane, walking in the middle, towards death apparently! You know how you would visualize someone waking up after 150 years and being plopped into modern civilization? That's the look he had as he flashed by. You have any idea how well he blended into the background and how close he was by the time my "woke at midnight", stoned eyes connected the dots? It was his lucky day...superman and all. I called the PG county cops to let them know he was there. I sure hope the guy is okay, didn't look like he was in the midst of his best day. I missed him by drifting my expedition but there's a lot of tractor trailers on that road, they might not see him at all.

enjoy the day guys

Yup, "working from home" tomorrow at Kerry's!

Kerry has a 1/2 day -Field Day then she'll be home!
I'm glad you get to work from home when you need to. Truely, it was the guy's lucky day. He had a guardian angel. We have a similar accident going on around here. But What's also going on here is early birds this spring. Even though the predicted date for their arrival in our state said mid May. Our spring has been cold like it used to be. So why should I complain? It's been normal this year... Buttt the Poor birdies didn't have a clue at this point when to fly in. So I'm worried. We'll see.

I'm at the Nook now. I brought Matilda back in from her overnight in her outdoor home since I won't be there to be on "rat patrol" when she first goes out there. I think we've resolved the issues drawing them(anyone want a grown kid kid, mostly housebroken?) but I still want to be there the 1st week.

Yeah, I really didn't want to hit that guy and the guys that followed me in didn't have a "story" so I assume the guy made somewhere safer than the middle of a highway.

I think the bird populations ebb and flow so while they might take a beating one year, the following can be plentiful for them. I watched wrens fledging yesterday, all three of them in the grass chirping away as mom tried to entice them to follow her.

got some work to do, enjoy the day...
