Sounds like the perfect way to remember your dad’s passing anniversary
Jacky sounds so lively I have images of her thoroughly enjoying herself.
Dickie hasn’t been very lively & some days she doesn’t eat much. The weather has been showery but warm. We may get some rain tomorrow possibly a thunderstorm. We could do with a good soaking.
Last week someone ran into the back of my car. The bumper is damaged but the other persons insurance is dealing with it all & it will be repaired next week. I’ll get a new bumper.
What troubled times we are in at the moment. Everyday on the news we hear of some tragedy or trouble somewhere in the world. The news is a bit grim tonight I shall keep images of Jacky foraging & climbing in my mind!

A nice idea, and I'm sure Zola would have loved the car - however, since we didn't have any guests at our wedding, Zola had to play the role of Best Tortoise , and to be the only family member present, so I think he had enough to cope with anyway!

Oh yes thanks I was fine, just a bump at a roundabout. Probably thought I was going to go when I didn’t! Just a bit of inconvenience getting a couple of estimates then being told it was going through insurance. Might be without car for a couple of days but should look like new when I get it back.
Been told it won’t affect my insurance but we’ll see. Its due for renewal next month

We have had very heavy rain most of the day - Zola has a plastic roof to his conservatory, and the rain makes a tremendous racket - in good weather it's nice, as you can hear the little birds running about on it ! Zola didn't like the rain,and nor did I, as my head is really painful today, but I felt obliged to keep him company! On Monday I go to the dentist, and on Tuesday to the hospital for my 35 head injections - I am going to have a fun week ! ! ! I hope the weather will be a bit better, as the birds and flowers and sunshine can take my mind off it quite a bit.
Our swallows haven't been around much, but we think they are ok.

Dear Natrah - I hope all goes really well with your concert - I'm sure it will, actually. Some of what you imagine about where I live is true -mainly the beautiful scenery nearby- however, the garden would be considered by many people to be a mess, and I would be embarrased if you saw the inside of the house, as it has gradually got more and more scruffy and untidy over the years - especially as it is so physically difficult for me to do things. I am not a tidy person at the best of times !
Still, it suits us - and Zola is happy, which is the most important thing of all.

How old is Edward now? I remember that he is than Jacky. Jacky is nearly 90. How old are you three Zola, Dickie and Sherman? Also @Chefdenoel10 how old are Sally and Squirt?

Sally turned 27 April 12th
Squirt turned 1 April 14th
One of those was when them titanic sank
And…..
Gary would have turned 7 on June 9th.

I don't know Edwards age, but I can somewhat trace back his story. When I got him a little over a year ago he had been in the animal shelter for at least 5 years. Before that he lived with his previous owners with two female tortoises in a glass tank way too small. He was surrendered to the shelter by family members after his original owner died. Before that I don't know. I suspect he was wild caught or came from one of those terrible "tortoise farms".

Edward doesn't seem to grow much anymore and I take it he is full grown.I have been thinking that he is maybe 10 to 20 years old but truly I don't know.

Don’t know Sherman’s age but unlikely to be over 30

Zola will be 25 on July 8th, so just a kid still, really. We don't know the exact date, but it is roundabout then, so he shares his birthday with me - and has a half-birthday with Richard in January (we make sure he shares in any celebration ! )

I may be wrong about this, but I have a feeling that it is little Gary's birthday today - anyway, Zola and I will give him some extra love when we remember him and our little friend Bonus the toad tonight,which we do every night.
