Thank you Natrah- Ihad a pretty unpleasant and painful day yesterday, and a very painful and sleepless night last night, but I'm feeling a lot better now, and quite excited to discover that my vision is already improving in some ways ! Things seem brighter, and I can see the colour blue much more brightly especially ! I have various drops to put in , and go back in 3 weeks for a checkup . I hope I can sleep tonight, but anyway I am feeling quite hopeful . Zola got to meet some of the nurses in the eye building, and of course they loved him !

With all you have to deal with Angie you are a real trooper! The eye drop regimen will get easier & all the time your sight will keep improving.
Onwards & upwards 😊

Soon I hope I shall be able to appreciate the colours of the flowers even more, I hope - I am having a cataract operation on Wednesday - I am sort of looking forward to it but also rather apprehensive. It's at Barnstaple hospital, and when I went for my assessment some time ago, the staff seemed really nice and kind -and I've been given lots of information about what will happen. There is a lot of building work round the hospital, and also lots of road works near it, so we shall leave early, although my appointment isn't until 12.30. Zola will have to come too, as he isn't safe to leave in his conservatory for quite a few hours on his own - he might fall on his back or get stuck or tangled with something. So Richard will leave me at the hospital and go away with Zola for a few hours, until he gets a message to come back. That's the plan, anyway !
If all goes well, I hope I shall be able to have the other eye done fairly soon, too.
Love to all from Angie xxxxxxxxxx
If it's lazor surgery like I had for cataracts it's not really bad going through it. The worst part is remembering to do your eye drops afterwards through a couple of weeks maybe three. It's so worth it. You'll be fine 😊🤗🙏.

Hello Natrah - the bluebells were in Meldon wood -near Okehampton. It is quite small, and not famous - and the edge of it is bordered by a motorway cut out right beside it, but much lower down. The poor birds have to really shout, because of the constant traffic noise, but it does mean that it isn't particularly popular or well-known. Okehampton is a special town to us, as it is where Zola found us -we went there to get bird food one day, 25 years ago, on July 8th, to be exact, and the friendly pet shop owner was very excited as he had some baby tortoises (they had been banned from sale for years). He brought them through to show us - there was one with a split shell and a bulging damaged eye - this tortoise looked at us, and we looked at him,and that was it -love at first sight !
As you know, Zola has still a split shell - we think he may have been trodden on , but his eye got better quite quickly, and he has never been ill since - and we are so very glad he found us !

Good morning everyone!

Angie I hope you've had a better night and it's good to see your sight gradually improving. It's also good to see Chef back here. How are things with your neighbours? A new Renters Act has been passed here which protects the renters good and bad. I can't help but think it's all very well but what about nuisance neighbours.

Anyway it's a lovely day here and I hope to get Jacky out today. It's also good to hear that Edward has had his first dandelions I'm just making the most of the dandelions that are still around.

Better go now as Jacky needs her breakfast.

Thank you dear Chef - one amazing thing about us meeting Zola is that we had never seriously considered getting a "pet" - we liked dogs, but knew they might have fairly short lives, and weren't sure if we could cope with that - the only creatures we had cared for were wild birds - but the moment we saw tiny little Zola, we knew we would love him for ever, and that was that ! The pet shop owner told us to go home and think about it, and said he would keep Zola (who he called Bobby Vee, because of the split in his shell )until we had thought it over, and made some preparations) -but, although pretty much about tortoises was new to us, we both knew for sure that we all belonged together.! And so we do still !

Yes been hearing about it on the news. Thank goodness your nuisance neighbours have already gone.
Petes sister & husband are about to move to rental property having sold their house recently with no chain so likely to happen quickly. They haven’t found anything yet that they want to buy so need time to look around properly as they are also considering a move to Norfolk.

Dear Angie
Starting off I hope you are feeling better today
Every day gets a little easier…

As for zolas story I cannot help but think it’s is exactly like how I met my Sally.
Never intended but most greatful years later..
I had a few gecko 🦎 friends but never was I a reptile person.????
I thought they only had tattoos and were bald people. (At that time…) 🫢😆
I always thought Zola was the size of a 10gallom fish tank…
But now I see in your pictures he is small enough to fit on your lap for his strokes.
Oh how lovely..☺️ 🙏

Sapphire is a great big 10 oinker.😊(Ounce). I didn't know much either. I fell in love with turtles when I was only about 5 or 6. But I never really wanted an animal that I couldn't be with either. Finally I understood that it was actually a tortoise that I wanted to be with around age 50. I finally managed to get my little Sapphire. And here we are 19 years later. What a lovely inspiring journey it's been.🐢🐇💩🥰😊

Good evening everyone!

We've had sunshine and showers today but it was still warm enough for Jacky to go outside. I got out to the Cliffs Pavilion for lunch and then I came home to do one last exam entry. Unfortunately I was unable to do this because all the slots for Southend, Chelmsford and Brentwood had gone. I would've been able to enter this pupil before but unfortunately he spends half of his time in Spain which is unhelpful. Anyway his mum was okay about it and I did try my best although she is going to try and enter him Spain where he has another teacher. I don't agree with having two teachers but with their lifestyle there's no choice.

It's not very nice letting a pupil down so I hope I can go out tomorrow and relax. Did anyone else go out today? Angie how is your sight? Edward have you got exams coming out? Sue if you look at Cold Dark Room you'll be able to see what comes to Cathie's garden!

I forgot to say that I saw two of my former neighbours from my old home at the Cliffs Pavilion and it was lovely to chat with them about mum, dad and nana. They are saying about houses in their road going for £700000!!! The buyers must be millionaires!

Goodnight everyone

Natrah, Jacky and Angel Daisy

PS: Jacky has been in the family for 76 years and gone through about three generations. We still say goodnight to Daisy and also good morning and I also still say 'Jacky And Daisy Forever'.
