Edward tried day lilies today for the first time and absolutely loved them!
That’s kind of you Jacky!Good afternoon everyone!
I know Natrah misses her dad so I decided to leave her a few presents in the garden!
Jacky
PS: Sapphire you do keep your mum busy!
I once had a dove check out Sapphire. She landed and walked around him. She thoroughly checked him out while I was sitting there. I've also watched geese, all in a row, totally check out a snake in the yard . Snakes will eat their eggs. The snake thought better and leftThat’s kind of you Jacky!
George leaves us presents outside too thankfully covered up
Dickie came out herself today after the morning rain passed. Once she’d had her fill of food she took herself back in her house. As it was sunny I thought she should be out in it so Pete got her back out & she has stayed out now although it’s windy.
We’ve noticed she does this quite often & I'm beginning to suspect she doesn’t like all the bird activity when their food is replenished so goes back inside her house. It’s probably instinctive to keep away from predators perhaps? Not that I’ve heard of birds attacking tortoises but I’m not surprised she might feel a bit nervous with the size of some of the corvids.
Here is a picture of one of the rooks that visit. Also @Chefdenoel10 a not so good picture of a Jackdaw with the grey neck, middle pic. The crows are frequent visitors as well, along with the usual smaller birds that keep out the way when they are around.

Think it’s a trick of the light. They do look like crows but with a grey neck, quite distinguished. Is its beak supposed to be white like that?

I’ve seen YouTube clips of squirrels jumping on people as they come out of their front doors & wondered if the squirrels in the US were a bit vicious! I don’t think they are here. People take nuts to the park to feed them here & they are very cute.
Hope the concert goes well Natrah
I hadn’t heard of daylilies before so looked them up. We have them too quite common here apparently under their many varieties names. I’ll try to get someToday on the menu for Edward is dandelion leaves with hawkbit flowers and daylilies from my dad's garden. They are a traditional perennial here and something that was growing in the garden way back when my dad bought the house. I am in my hometown as I can finish rest ofy course work here and Edward can enjoy his outdoor enclosure on nice days.
I think they might be a different species over there!Well the I love the bird.
Beak and all!
As far as I know the squirrelshere in America are like New Yorkers..
Always ready for a fight unless you have food.
Even then when they are done I’m sure they are thinking (as they are staring at you)
“What are YOOUU lookin’at ?”
So you smile and walk back inside your house backwards so you don’t get jumped.
Natrah!!!!
I want a full report tonight when I get back!
Happy day everyone!!![]()
Not surprising! Have a leisurely day today & treat yourself to a lunch out somewhereGood morning everyone!

Natrah
