I'm very happy that they found a good place for these tortoises! I'm actually a hop skip away from the zoo. I plan on going and visiting and I'll definitely post some pictures. But there's no way that they can possibly how was 1000 tortoises! I wouldn't be surprised if people in this area of the country try to adopt them out?
If the weather is nice this up coming Tuesday, I will be going to the Detroit Zoo with a client I work with. I'm hoping I can talk to someone and ask about those turtles and tortoises (just curious). I'm assuming many of them didn't make it due to being shoved in a boot and in such poor conditions being baby tortoises...people make me SICK!!
I'm sure many aren't going to make it, cause I'm sure the zoo has no clue how to properly take care of them. It's sad that some people are so greedy and money hungry.

Well, I probably shouldn't have said most. I really meant most of the ones that are already doing bad. The others, I'm sure are not being raised in the manner we are used to from this forum.
