I'm of course sorry to hear your sweetheart is still ill.....but if I may....a wife w/o a voice is a bad thing? Jus askin....lol
O2 levels and lot of hydration.....

Not as far as Cascade Mark, where Ft Ritchie was but I had figured you for Ret Mil.....so I wasn't far off! You were at Raven Rock? Been there a couple times for work in the two powerplants on either end of the Alphabet buildings.
Yes, over the past 40 some years I've been lucky enough to be involved with some cool projects in some very cool buildings!
I wasn't going to say it!🤣🤣🤣

Rose is getting worse, but I am sure it's the progression of the illness.
I researched viral infections and you all were right. Antibiotics are not a treatment. When I go see my doctor this month. I will question her about the situation.
Rose's throat is sore and she has lost her voice. I am monitoring her oxygen saturation to keep a eye on her lungs. If she doesn't show improvement soon. I will be calling the doctors office.
A Z-Pac keeps working after you've had your last dose. I like the one that you have to take more days but only because of what the shorter one does to me. Like Lynn said salt water gargle or another one is apple cider vinegar and swallow it after after you gargle. Or you can mix it half and half with natural honey and take spoonfuls as needed. Both help. Anyway, I'll keep Rose and you in my prayers for a speedy recovery.🤗🙏

A few more suet cakes for the birdies. Next week is below normal temps, something we haven’t had much of this year.

Sunflower seeds, cracked wheat, quinoa & unsalted peanuts all mixed in with melted lard.

I'm so glad you posted that again. I have some containers saved and couldn't remember the recipe. I do think I remembered oatmeal in the other post too. Maybe I'm wrong. Could the recipe be so much lard with a certain amount of other and it doesn't matter the mix?

Another bad picture. I had to hold my hands steady while aiming and shooting with my phone 🙃. (I was so excited). I couldn't 🥴but Mr. Hairy came for a visit today. How could I give up?View attachment 354867
Today was funny. The female hairy came for a visit today. When the starlings came and tried to shew her off she shewed them away. And told them what for.😉. Even the larger red bellied woodpecker doesn't do that. I was hoping and praying at least a few of our native birds would stand up to them. Prayers got answered.🤗

Doesn't matter on the mix. I tried some oatmeal in a few batches, but haven't used it in the last few. Nuts, & grains. 1-2 cups of melted lard coats many cups of seed.

Chilly & sunny outside today. Gave our aquariums a good water change & filter clean ups. Ordered a new filter for our largest tank.

Some crafting going on in the woodshop today. I’m working on another Wind Spinner & wifey was finishing up another wine holder. Natural edge on one side, some carving on the surface.

We all live in very different worlds but have so much in common. For instance .....I thought it was trail mix in containers at first......and while the picture surely reflects simplicity in elegance, never ask me a wine question, my vast experience includes Boones Farm Strawberry hill and the Apple one they had...in the 70's. LOL

Pod coming to my driveway Mon, manpower on Tues to move stuff out. Moving in the right direction.

Funny reaction to my recap letter to the contractor over the ATT site meant to manage their pricing expectations....
I got a return email w/i 5 minutes. "The ability to complete this can't impact your ability for the ***** project as you are the low contractor on that project and we expect to have a contract out next week."

In my mind, this is either a good thing, or a bad thing......which one? Haven't a clue yet.....LOL

TGIF!

Matilda is behind me eating steak & strawberries. LOL

No I wouldn't. Even if I had the money. A log cabin in the woods is my ideal of luxury living.

Well I found out the Z-pak situation. It's not a antibiotic it is a prednisone dose pac. That makes more sense to me. Rose's asthma as kicked in but her upper sinuses are not stuffed up. I had to give her a scolding today. For not gargling long enough. Looks like I will be sleeping in my easy chair again tonight. Her cough is persistent and she is being stubborn about a warm water or tea mixed with lemon and honey. She says it is to sweet. I told her something to sweet is the least of her problems. Wish she would take advice from others and quit being stubborn. 🤔😖

Good. You need a natural straight apple cider vinegar.if you use it. You can also just take some like a swig of whiskey.. I don't think anyone would be able to accuse it of being sweet. 😉😜 It's just like it minus the alcohol. It stops the coughing for awhile though. And healing too.the good natural ones don't really taste bad at all.🍸🍻.

Mrs. Hairy has been visiting again. I managed to get another bad picture on my phone. 😊The Campark is laid up for now. The only way I can tell them from Mr. and Mrs. Downy is because they are a bit larger.(almost double 🙃) and they don't put up with much 😁IMG_20230310_104213435.jpg

You make me jealous. I've got too many cats otherwise I'd love to encourage birds to come visit.
😊 The Crab Apple tree keeps them pretty safe or I wouldn't either. Dilly is the only cat I have. He likes to scare them through the window but God forbid he accidentally gets outside. He cries his heart out wanting help to get back in the house 😭 the neighbors cats aren't smart or quick enough thank goodness. What's funny is, if I had known that tree was a true Crab Apple I wouldn't have planted it in our front yard.🥴eeek

Sleepless in Lake Shore........

I need to up my reading skills, didn't know zpaks were in play....they give those to Superman in case he catches anything respiratory-related. Yes, fast-acting steroids of the type that makes folks rage with high doses. Anabolic or not? I don't remember. Still got one in the amour-methylprednisolone- issued in '18, expired in '20 LOL...I was going to offer to fed ex it down there Ray....but now it seems like not such a nice thing to offer(you are welcome to it though), finding out it's expired!
(ok, there were also several paks under it dating back to '04, but I just threw the really old ones away- why do we do that?)

I've heard about a couple of those Cruises before, maybe it's the ratio of affordability that changing as I get older that I notice them more, or there are more of them? That is an amazing itinerary! Everyone has their idea of nirvana and for many it would be the adventure of a lifetime and have no illusions, it would be! The cultures, the sights, the variety of folks for those that are single(veg). I've cruised a couple times before and it's an impressive experience. The FOOD alone is usually worth the price of admission, and I don't value food like others so for the food to have left such an impression, it had to be 1st rate! You also learn what you like and don't like on a ship and for me, a ship is a very stark prison. Everything "looks the same", smells the same, talks the same, acts the same. Two days at sea and I cracked, 2 days was my max between ports....I go absolutely stir crazy on a ship. We went on nice cruises, not cheap ones so there was everything to do without the crowds but how many times do you need to shoot skeet by timing the shots, bam, bam, bam, bam before you get bored? Same with every other preplanned and choreographed "activity", the ports show you the worst of tourist traps where everyone pretends to be your friend, to get your money. I nearly went to prison in Grenada...they get you drunk on the glass bottom boat, then sell you drugs....LOL.....thank God I have fantastic choice in women, Peg grabbed me by the scruff of the neck like a child and took me from the officer screaming at me and he just watched as she marched jeffrey onto the Tender to go back to the ship! Whew....but you can imagine, she was not amused. I briefly thought about returning to the Officer.
I tried the big boats 3 times and I made the most of it and had a blast on each trip but each time I felt like a rat in a Habitrail! Guess that would be a no for me, I wouldn't want to get cynical in my old age or end up in prison.....LOL

The cats would appreciate the company of the birds Y, but that does seem like it would be a particularly gruesome interaction.

Thank you, I will add that to my list. Going to make a trip to the store in my wheelchair tomorrow.

On the cruise. Id feel trapped as well on a massive cruise ship with 1000s of people. Id probably not be permitted on board - “Sir, no chainsaws or carving tools permitted”. Please walk the gang blank.

That said i thoroughly enjoyed the VERY small cruises that ive been on. One was on a tall clipper ship along the coast of Maine. Maybe 25 ppl max. Think small cabins, hoisting sails, crab & lobster bakes on the shoreline.

The second was an inland cruise from Moscow to St Petersburg.
Got to see some interesting very rural & remote parts of Russia. Took a small cruise down the Nile in Egypt. Very interesting way to slowly see things along the Nile & ppl there. Lastly, another very small ship/cruise along the southern coast of Turkey. Crystal clear water, seafood & sights galore.

BUT, a three-year-long cruise on a massive ship with a ton of ppl might be a bit long.

So far, so good. The new aquarium filter arrived SUPER FAST, ordered it Thursday and it arrived Friday afternoon. Unboxed and installed this morning & it’s working fantastically. Filters 300 gallons per hour - so technically all my water is being fully circulated through the filter 15 times per hour.

I must never get sick. Never heard of a Z-Pac. I do add apple cider vinegar to our juices & we use it on our salads. Hope Rose is on the mend!
