Good morning/afternoon all.
After being thrown into autumn last week, we are back in summer today! It's lovely out there and Lola is soaking up the sun. I need to go shopping but don't want to bring him in yet. He may as well make the most of it while it lasts.
I haven't done anything special over the weekend - just decided to pull all my furniture into the middle of the room to give it a good clean - a good workout for me and I didn't ache today which is a bonus! Today it's the windows' turn to shine -hopefully!

Well Lyn, speaking of shopping: we went this morning to one of those grocery stores where you put a quarter in to release your cart for you to fill. We load it, pay for it and Kerry goes to return it, we find someone has put the piece at the end of the chain into the rear of the quarter release mechanism thereby releasing our quarter into their hand!
We even found a bonus cucumber in our stuff, no doubt employed as a prop in someone's highly lucrative plot!
We laughed.... Thank God that they seemed to set their sights low!
Getting the outside stuff packed today since its supposed to rain tomorrow. We folded and loaded the ebikes and Kerry packed the dry food for the trip. I bought a UV flashlight for diamond hunting but I told Kerry that I refuse to turn it on any hotel room! Some things are better off unknown!

Just letting you all know about a Sulcata belonging to the head nurse at the vets. Apparently he bashed his way through some wire mesh fencing around some flowerbeds and started 'work' on one side of the garden before 'working' on the other side. The nurse arrived home to find the last flower disappearing

One of my neighbors that I met at the yard sale came over to get me to look at his boat carb...inboard Holly....he told me that he rebuilt it...but we're not sure it was adjusted correctly. I didn't have time to get too deep but it was nice going over and talking with him but I've got to get things ready.
Kerry is folding the laundry. Then it will be time to pack for our trip. We won't be buying a car in Fla. with daughter since she hasn't sold her present Beater car but it will be good to take her out for a couple of daytrips, school is burning her out.
We made major progress in the garage. I'll be able to park my car in it within a couple days of our return.
I sure do love those deserts N! Classy, very classy!

Good job getting things packed a day early before the rain. Luckily, still dry az a bone here today. The sun was out for a few hours in the morning!
Will you be going to see Ray in Florida?

Not sure he's built to do hard time N so it wouldn't be fair.....besides Kerry might ONLY bail me out!

I am looking forward to seeing Aunt Cathy's new place down there. She's moving from her long time lake home so it's a big deal for her. It will be a cool thing since she's around 130 or so years old.
Then the search for diamonds, real live diamonds! How cool is that!
Vacations are the time for when you DO all the cool stuff that you've planned in the previous few months and now, I can do them with someone AND we have the time to do them!
We are excited to take this trip....oh and we plan on going back to Dollywood too on the way home!

Well day 1 was a mix....all started out great till we got within shouting distance of Washington DC. We stopped in Fayetteville.....120 miles earlier than planned but it was getting dark and the rain was blinding.
Ouch..traffic till DC and 1 bad accident on 95S in Va so bad they shut it down for hours, then biblical rains in NC....we bailed. Kerry was driving and she wanted to make Buc-ees in Florance SC but she was shot. We will stop there tomorrow.
She described it as someplace huge with all kinds of shops and cool things but she's never been there either. Should be neat!

Jeff an easier trip south from where you are coming from is 301 down to just south of Kings Dominions. There you can get on 95S to Richmond. You could have told Kerry that you wanted to show her where you used to work and kept going south. No DC traffic to deal with.

We typically go that route but this time we had an errand to run up near DC so we kind of had to go that way. The accident was at the 295 Richmond bypass and 95 so we would have been screwed anyway.
It's ok, we sacked out for a bit at a Tru hotel...quick &easy but we should have gone across the street to the Hampton. This place is clean but overpriced.
We are planning our day at Cape Canaveral, Kerry has never gone so she's never touched a Saturn V.....yet!
