It's all ice outside now. 12F this morning. Yesterday at 4pm we went out to clear my truck parked outside. It took us 1/2 hour or so. Thankfully no shoveling necessary with an Expedition with 4-low gearing. It's like the Mighty Mike toy jeep of the 70's. It just goes! I ran in and out of the driveway a dozen times. It's all going to be ice anyway so no harm in mushing it.

We cleared my truck for a 730Am appointment this morning. After we came in, the Dr called and said to come in later....LOL Ah well, at least the truck is done.

It really is beautiful out though....but very slippery. Kerry and i each fell once but she lacks body control when she's falling so she's the one that always gets hurt. Her back was wrenched so badly that she couldn't get into the tub to let it do it's magic. Hopefully she will be feeling better today.

I wasn't going to post this....but had to.

I was soaking in the 102F water before turning on the pumps...and it is 20F outdoors. Everything you see is ICE

Dear Lyn,

It is miserable here? At Cathie and Jeff's snow looks pretty!

Our snow is so pretty. Tomorrow I'll try to get a picture. Ice storms are so beautiful too. Jeff seems to be going through that πŸ™πŸ€”πŸ™ƒ. Ok I admit that mother nature is stunningly beautiful but gemani give us a break. The sooner it all melts the better life around here will be. She's trying to stay cold as ice for as long as she can πŸ˜‰

Good morning everyone!

Parts of the UK have weather warnings for more rain. Angie and Lyn I hope you're both okay. I'm okay because I'm high up.

LOL I read N's post: "I'm okay because I'm high."
Sorry N.....

We put in a marathon evening planning the Glacier National Park part of our trip next Sept. We will be heading into Wyoming from Colorado so we will meander up past Jackson Hole to the Heart Six ranch for a couple days at Grand Teton before going into Yellowstone for a few days. All this before heading north to Glacier NP.

The GNP part of our trip was a real headscratcher. The logistics are difficult at best with only 1 road across the park. I walked away from the computer 2 or 3 times after getting stuck....either having to pay in full today or realizing that its 500 a night for only a buck cabin.....yeah, it's real expensive staying near or in National Parks. Kerry saved the day for us by finding a place right next to the West entrance at Glacier Guides Lodge! And it's affordable to boot! I think we are there 5 days.

We are planning our trip "backwards" because we had to book now if we wanted a place to stay in Sept at Yellowstone and Glacier NP's. We booked our stay in Yellowstone a couple months ago but we forgot how crowded Glacier Park is.....most of the rooms were already booked but Kerry found us a gem and I managed to get us on one of the last full day Red Bus tours to the Going to the Sun road before they close up for the season.season!

So now we have entering Wyoming on the 9th and leaving Montana on the 22nd after visiting the 3 parks.

Next up: Rocky Mountain National Park for the week preceding the 9th.

I think I'll be exhausted before we ever leave!

Another frozen tundra outside today. Kerry has a dentist appointment this morning. I saw the Dr yesterday and he didn't even make me in trouble over my failing blood tests.....everything is going the wrong way but he suggested a couple of dietary changes and sent me on my way! Whew!

Sounds lovely but exhausting. You'll need a holiday to recover from the holiday!
My nephew working with the Air Force has tried to fit on as many parks as possible over the last few years. They are due back in April though so running out of time.

We are fine, thank you, Lyn.There has been a lot of flooding of fields, and some buildings damaged, but our house is raised quite a bit above the road, and is fairly safe.It has been a bit complicated getting anywhere in the car, because a lot of roads have been flooded, too, and it's hard to judge how deep the water is until you see another car trying to go through it !

We are building "landing zones" into the trip where we just stay somewhere a couple days and relax. I think we're going to try to spend Labor day weekend in Golden Co because that gives us access to some things we want to see but we can also chill a couple days before we drive up to & through the mountains into Wyoming. We have a lot of -300 mile days too. The only "runs" are across the belly of the country and those will be long days...hence the downtime in Co. We still have to finalize that part....but it's looking like we will be leaving on our target date of Sept 1st.

I have friends that collect Park stamps and they travel to a lot of places. Good for your Nephew!

We had some idiot snow plow driver come down our side road after the city advertised Main Roads first. They had the plow set to dump on the right so all cars on that side got the snow pile- 6"-10". THis was done Sunday at 11 AM while it was still snowing. THe freezing rain transitioned in the evening so all snow piles became ICEBERGS. It took me two hours with shovel, ice melt and an dull wood maul (5LB). to get my AWD truck free. My neighbor on the other side pull the tarp off his chevy colorado and pulled out. Heck my neighbor with a Ford Econline Van got out from the alley. THe plow made it 10x's worse

Very pleased you're ok Angie and I hope the waters find somewhere to drain to and that the roads aren't too badly damaged..

Yeah BD, we get the same treatment in our neighborhood. I figure it's just the way the dice rolled. Sorry for the bit*ch job though. That was hard work brother.
I tried getting my grill cleared and gave up after 10 strikes with a Tunneling bar! That ice is all the way through!

The Expedition has been unimpressed with this stuff. It eats it for breakfast and I don't even have to take it out of 4A! I did low gear yesterday for fun but put it back. 2ft coming out of the driveway. LOL A friend with a 150 tore out his lower radiator b/c he didn't remove the plastic shroud under the engine that snowplowss on anything deeper than 7". Apparently it was attached to the lower radiator mount. My expy had one too. I took it off when i bought it.

It was 9F this morning with highs for the next week in the 20's. A good week to walk out on the creek!

We stayed up late last night to nail down a little more of our trip....so far it looks like this;
