Do redfoots pee or is it just mixed in with their poop? Also How often should they poop? and what color should be? and is it noticable or is it hard to find in the substrate? ahhh so many gross questions :p

I use a mix of soil, peat moss and cypress mulch, so I've never seen any pee in there. I have lots of plants in his viv, so far nothing has killed them, but he's doing it someplace.

lol they pee. Mines pee and poo every single day during feeding. It looks like pooping but not. The tail will wag and it bulges a little (the penis is inside so it bulges out a bit to pee) then water comes out. I feed them on a white plate so I notice these kinda stuff LOL.

Aristotle likes to poo in water, and Plato never poos until I put him back in his enclosure. when I do, he just stands there and wait till his poo comes. When he poos, he'll walk back in his hide. The behavior is sooo consistent that its like they're potty trained. They never poo in any other situation.

Well-hydrated Red-foots pee in rather large, water-like amounts pretty regularly. I see my torts pee about once a week or so when they are eating. Their tails wag (which on a bigger male is HUGE), then it gets really wet under them.

The poop should look like a reasonably well-formed green-brown log with fiber in it- although fruit makes it browner and looser, as does a lack of fiber in the diet.

They tend to eat their poo, or hold it until they are well-enough hydrated or fed, etc. I can go a while without seeing any and then suddenly see it all over the place. They also tend to poop when I soak them, but I don't do that very often as long as they are well-hydrated.

They sure do! My female redfoots name is Squirt just for this reason. She peed in the box on the way home after I purchased her, so the name just stuck. Mine has peed on me several times. I once put her in front of a mirror and she started bobbing her head and then started to pee. She has also pooped on me twice. Both times I was laying on the couch with her on my stomach and I didn't notice until she started walking. She poops regularly in her enclosure, but always poops if I soak her in the tub. I know it's gross, but if I think she may be "backed" up, I put her in the tub.
