What size is your tortoise? If it's a little one, this enclosure looks great. It its an adult, this enclosure is much too small. 4x8 feet is the minimum recommended size for indoor housing.

With a bit more than the price of that enclosure you could get a larger one that comes with all the lighting and heating installed.

I’m so late to this thread, but if you’re needing more ideas, feel free to check out these links!

This thread covers correct equipment(uvb, heating bulbs, lighting etc), correct levels, appropriately maintaining the humidity, safe substrates, there’s lots of visual examples for everything, and the tortoise table link(Really useful tool)

This includes lots of inspiration for an adult set up both indoors and out! The indoor bit has some good ideas to tackle indoor space whilst still providing the needed roaming room! Check comments too, I’m always adding to it, I have a huge back log I need to add.

Lastly, this one here is good to go over and keep on hand, it’ll help you avoid the wrong bulbs, substrates, housing etc, I always encourage double checking purchases on the forum too before buying😊

Hope they can come in handy!🐢💚🫶

Does Mark’s smart enclosure use a basking lamp? Or just Radiant Heat Panels with LED and UV lights? Don’t we need an incandescent basking lamp?

I'd suggest calling him, he can answer all your questions in depth. He knows tortoises.

But to answer your question - the enclosures come with everything installed... you just add substrate, water dishes, and hides.

The only problem I see is that it needs to cross an International Border. In case that puts a glitch in the things - maybe this is something to consider -

Ah, the reason I asked about basking light is because in the second thread you linked there are photos of the top of the enclosure and it appears to have 4 LED pot lights and a radiant heat panel and a T5 UVB, but no medium base lamp holder for a basking light. Am I just not seeing it?

Each enclosure is more or less custom-made. What someone with a tropical species needs differs from what someone with a grassland or forest species needs. Talk with Markw84 for the best and clearest answers. These are not crummy pre-made, off the shelf, one-size-fits-all enclosures. Yes, they are modular and can be added onto, but you really need to talk with him for details and the most accurate answers.

I’m also from Canada and reached out to mark for one of is amazing enclosures. However, shipping to Canada is sadly A LOT😢
