looks nice, I would be worried about the tortoise escaping between the bamboo sticks? DO they bend at all or are they stable

They are pretty firm, and the gap is only 2 inches. And the block around the edge is a foot high. The pictures are deceiving.

None the less my husband is putting chicken wire behind it this weekend. Not so much to keep him in, but to keep unwanted visitors out!
