How old is Edward now? I remember that he is than Jacky. Jacky is nearly 90. How old are you three Zola, Dickie and Sherman? Also @Chefdenoel10 how old are Sally and Squirt?

I don't know Edwards age, but I can somewhat trace back his story. When I got him a little over a year ago he had been in the animal shelter for at least 5 years. Before that he lived with his previous owners with two female tortoises in a glass tank way too small. He was surrendered to the shelter by family members after his original owner died. Before that I don't know. I suspect he was wild caught or came from one of those terrible "tortoise farms".

Edward doesn't seem to grow much anymore and I take it he is full grown.I have been thinking that he is maybe 10 to 20 years old but truly I don't know.

Dickie is around 56/57 yrs old so middle aged like us!
Don’t know Sherman’s age but unlikely to be over 30

Zola will be 25 on July 8th, so just a kid still, really. We don't know the exact date, but it is roundabout then, so he shares his birthday with me - and has a half-birthday with Richard in January (we make sure he shares in any celebration ! )

It's a great shame that Edward had such a difficult life before he met you, but I'm sure he is happy with you now, and appreciates all your care and love.

Natrah went to the dentist today and everything was okay apart from needing to have a filling which is booked for next Tuesday morning. I have never been to a dentist but Natrah says that I have strong jaws. She said 'ouch' when I decided to try the pink thing that was holding the lettuce. Anyway she bought the supplement below from the Exotics shop and I am going to try it tomorrow.

Angie we hope your appointments go well next week and Zola please look after your mum

I've just added turmeric as this was an ingredient that was in the Oxbow supplement which is good for tortoises and can act as an anti-inflammatory.

Hello Natrah - we have had heavy rain all day, so we just had a short drive to look at the sea, and Zola stayed in the car. He has actually been very good, and enjoyed his afternoon stroke. Yesterday was sunny and warm, and we went to Roadford lake, which is a reservoir not too far away, and it was lovely ! There were hardly any people about,and it was very quiet and peaceful - and across the lake we could see sheep in some of the fields. I think the weather will be better tomorrow - I hate to see our beautiful delicate plants get battered by the rain - though luckily they mostly manage to recover. Zola has some lovely red roses beginning to flower beside his conservatory window.

Good evening everyone!

Angie that reservoir sounds lovely and I would have spent a long time looking at the birds. Did you see many birds there? It's been lovely here and very warm. I put Jacky's pet carrier outside with the thermostat and it read 27 degrees Celsius. The thermostat in Jacky's enclosure read 23 degrees Celsius when she was out and the one in the spare room read 21 degrees Celsius so I that to ensure she has comfortable nights it would be better to let her sleep in the pet carrier like she has done previously. She has thrown cataracts and arthritis straight out the window by foraging all over the garden eating like a horse and climbing and digging in the rockery!

I was a little bit sad today because it six years since dad passed away and the memories came back so I had lunch at the Cliffs Pavilion. I had Pulled Beef Ciabatta and then Toffee Cake. I was joined by a party of school children but they were good company. When they left I noticed my watch saying that it was almost 1 pm which is when dad slipped away and so I gave him a toast!
