Hope you get home before it pours down. Could really do with some rain here so send it my way please!
Dear Sue,
I felt a few raindrops but it was weird because looking towards the west it was clear but there was a massive cloud above the bus stop and to the east where it was unleashing it's wrath. I was coming home from a Southend Chamber Music Club concert in a normally freezing cold church which was very warm. Anyway the concert was very good albeit with a sparse audience. Anyway Angie I have a my sight-test on Tuesday and Specsavers have sent the following text:
"We are very excited to see you for your sight-test on Tuesday at 9.45 am"
Good to see Chef here. Hope you're feeling better Chef

We didn’t get any rain either but I’ve got my fingers crossed for today. It is very windy which is having an additional cooling effect so that’s good. The house is still very warm so windows & doors open again!Dear Sue,

I too have my eye test Tuesday. It’s been 2 years & the optition has been badgering me with reminders for months. I’ve delayed as come September I need to renew my driving licence ( with a photo licence, still got the old paper one!) & I didn’t know if the required eye test would be mandatory by then so I’ve waited until now but I need to sort out the new licence soon.
I’ve also lost the outer part of a filling in one of my back teeth which is mostly filling. The tooth next to it was removed last year & im dreading it if the dentist says it can’t be saved. I’ve been grinning into a mirror to see if a gap would be noticeable & I think it might be
I’m delaying all this for now as it’s not hurting!- Joined

I have had several back teeth removed over the years, and the dentist assured me that over time the remaining ones would spread out to fill the gaps - she was right ! The only problem is that as they shift, they can hurt quite a bit on and off, even though there's nothing wrong with them. I can tolerate that ok, as long as there's no noticeable gaps! Good evening everyone!
It's been cooler here and I spent the afternoon at a garden party for the volunteers of the Southend Musical Festival. It was a very relaxing afternoon and we all indulged our sweet teeth. Angie I'm pleased with what the dentist said about teeth because that implies that the tooth that I had extracted a couple of years ago could be 'replaced'. Dad had dentures which he never used and nana had false teeth because it was the fashion to have all your teeth removed at 21 in her day.
Thankyou for telling me about the Black-veined White Butterfly being reintroduced at Dartmoor Zoo. I would love to see them and I'll keep an eye out for any article in my butterfly magazine. I'll let you all know about my sight-test and whether Specsavers display any balloons. I will then visit EE to ask them why my direct debit hasn't been reduced so they won't be looking forward to seeing me.

Aww Jacky perhaps you won’t have to have them so often now it’s not so hot. I don’t like them either & splay my legs in protest & sometimes I can pull the plug out so the water drains away!Good evening tortoises!
I had one of those drowning sessions this morning and I was so upset that I ran to my mop friend for a cuddle!

Pete says Sherman is out & about in the rabbit garden which is his really.
He has discovered Tank is in the field where the lambs are kept so he has plenty of room

Nine of the butterflies have arrived from Normandy, and within minutes one had laid lots of eggs ! There is quite a lot of info on Google about them !

Tomorrow I have a phone call arranged with the hospital to talk about my next eye op. I am hoping that I shall be able to get it done very soon, as I do find it difficult with my eyes not "matching", and my headaches are rather worse, I think, because of it too. I am still enjoying the experience of being able to see more clearly - and in glorious technicolour too, though !

Still no rain. Neighbour had a hedgehog shut in his shed for 2 days. I alerted him this morning to scratching I could hear late last night. Thank goodness it’s free as in this heat it wouldn’t have survived much longer.
Gave it some food & water which I think it had some of then it left the feeding box & went off back to its nest I suppose.
Hope everyone is leaving water out for the birds & wildlife. Hoping for some rain today

Dear Natrah -it is raining quite hard at the moment, so no breakwater for Zola, but I thougt you would like to know that I shall be having my second eye op on Thursday at 7-30 am -a cancellation ! ! ! I's a good hour's
drive to Barnstaple, but at least we know where to go and everything ! And Zola will get to meet the nurses again !
