If you are feeding your tortoise the right diet, you do not need to feed it calcium powder. Provide it with a cattle bone, if it wants calcium,it will eat that. I suggest you go to our Sulcata subspecies section and read the care sheets at the top of the page. It will answer most of your questions. I don't give any calcium supplements to my torts just a varied diet. Occasionally I add crushed egg shells, maybe once a month.
