My tort's shell looks unhealthy

My tort's shell looks drained of color and spots compared to most RUSSIAN TORTOISES. Here's a pic :

Looks good to me, nice even growth mostly,they do vary in color somewhat. Even my fresh out of the egg hatchlings have quite a bit of variety in color.

Looks good to me. Some Russians just have lighter shells. Some of its genetics, some of its environment. Sometimes the shells of outdoor Russians will be a little darker. Shell variation is normal and healthy. Your tort looks great.

Hi Santina:

A lot of us here on the forum get our tortoises wet to take pictures. The wet shell shows up better and shows off the tortoises' beautiful colors better. That may be what you're seeing on other member's tortoises.
