Wow, they are beautiful. I really love the last two and the sizes of the blooms, gigantic. You must have green thumbs, fingers and toes:D

If I had a greenhouse like my sister, I could grow those beauties in freakin Oregon. Just beautiful...

Love the last two. I need to be like TerryO when she visits greenhouses and visit JD with a pair of scissors hidden in my purse. Of course, I don't have a purse, so that might not work.... :)

Those are really beautiful, Mr. Jeff. The best looking food I've ever seen. :p

Ok J' and Maggie .....Just like Plumerias, Propagating hibiscus can be done a few different ways, but the easiest and most successful (for myself) is taking softwood cuttings from the “Mother Plant”. This will give you an exact pairing of the parent plants genes and blooms-“ flower look alike’s” (just like tortoise breeding ;) ) Air layering is the alternative if the cuttings do not root ( but we will not get into that here). Like Plumeria ….Hibiscus plants do produce seed, but it takes almost a year and a half to produce a flowering plant from seed and the plant may turn out nothing like the parent plant . Same goes with Plumerias, and even a longer time to produce a blooming plant…(up to 7 years). I’ll let Santa know you guys want some rooted cuttings…..
