So grateful for y'all

I am so incredibly thankful that I stumbled across this forum. When I decided that I would be Lou's new caregiver I knew absolutely zero about tortoise care. This place has provided so much information that I can't absorb it fast enough. Any time I ask a question no matter How asinine it may seem it is met with several prompt answers and never have I been put down or degraded for my lack of knowledge. Also Just tonight one of the members of this wonderful group read how I had acquired Lou and was struggling with finances for all the things he needs so they took it upon themselves to help me in a way I could never imagine. They set up a gift card for me at an online tortoise store to help out with costs. I was astonished. No one has ever done anything like that for me. I would never have expected a complete stranger to do so much for me. Anyways I just wanted to again extend my appreciation for everyone in this forum

I'm surprised at how much I've learned already. However anytime I buy something for him I get the strangest looks when I tell people it's for a tortoise.

I've always loved animals and before I became a mom, I usually preferred the company of animals to people because animals just do their thing, I love them, and sometimes they love me back.
Then along came a box turtle into my life and I wanted him to have optimal conditions. So I researched and searched and many links led me here so I decided to check it out and I am SO glad I did.
This forum has been fantastic and helpful. AND being here is why I ended up buying Leo's and that's when I realized I have needed these little dinosaurs in my life all along.
I had always loved turtles ever since my dad used to swim to the bottom of Lake Meredith's swimming area and bringing back big huge turtles to the beach to show my brother and I.
I was like 4 or 5. Anyways, I just never really had a chance to get involved in keeping until now.
So high fives all around to all of you who have answered questions, commiserated, been kind and tolerant of my bajillion questions and pictures (lol), encouraged and informed, and given me advice. And double high fives for whomever is responsible for the anonymous gift card to the OP.
