So because his undershell feels like a Tupperware lid he's on his way to die? Is there any way to help him??
No. Tupperware lid is normal. Squishy like a sponge means you have a problem.

And no, it does not always mean they are going to die. Some pull through and some don't. What you can do to help is soak daily, feed a great diet, and house the tortoise in optimal warm humid conditions.

Finally, if the tortoise's kidneys were too badly damage by the dry routine while in the care of the breeder or seller, then no, there is nothing that can be done to save them. The problem is that no one knows how to tell which ones will make it and which ones won't, so the only viable option is to do our best and try to save them all, but with the realistic idea that some of the dry started ones simply are not going to survive and its not our fault. It is the fault of the person who let the brand new hatchling dry out in the first place.

Ok we do soak daily for 20 minutes in his warm bath, and lots of grass, kale, and as a treat dandelion greens cause he loves em but gets a bit of loose stool lol. And he has awesome lights and humidity and heat. He goes outside for playtime in the sun too.

You need a lot more variety in the diet. Here are some ideas:

Kale should only be fed once in a while, not as a regular item in the diet.
