My 9 mo.old leopard Rosie has been going back and forth with this swelling issue some days it looks better and some days it seems like it looks a little worse hard to tell ...I took her to the vet recently and he said it was edema from too much soaking I only soak her daily for 30 minutes also another vet said it was probably a diet issue so I switched her to only Missouri for a week which only caused her to gain four times the normal weight she gains on grass and leaves and such.... so this morning I weighed her and she lost 10 grams from the previous week and also I tried soaking her every other day for this last week which I thought at first she look like it might be going down a but today she still looks like she's swelling here's some pics from this morning and a video on YouTube.

you definitely cannot get edema from soaking too much. I am glad you went for a second opinion. Did the vets do any blood work? In a few posts on the forum previously, the connection to edema was kidney/renal failure, so blood work would be pretty important in determining that.
The body of the tortoise looks fine to me in these pics!

Well the body doesn't look too swollen as she has just been growing a lot since I got her she weighed 64 grams at 3 months old and now she's 9 months old and weighs just around 200 other people say she looks like a healthy baby I just thought her face and limbs look swollen as I have other pictures of her feet sticking out that looks swollen or fat compared to other tortoises and also I've seen some tortoises with the slightly rounded head which I don't know if those were normal or they just happen to be swollen too as I haven't owned a turtle before and I'm not familiar with what normal looks like.. also read they can overeat but everybody else seems to think that she needs to eat as much as she wants being that she's growing I figured maybe she was just a little on the fat side if I was being too paranoid and there wasn't something really wrong.... all I know is she eats most of her food every day she poops every day she sleeps and she basks on her tile I keep the temperatures always above 83 or 4 at night and during the day around 84 on the cool side and upwards of 88 on the warm side with a tile of 92 humidity is always between high 80s usually mid-90s so basically everything shows normal for Behavior also the vet that said she had edema from soaking too much recommended yesterday that I feed her frozen peas cut in half to help reduce the swelling from the edema but I heard they can't have peas and then I also heard they can so not sure on that one for now I'm just taking it day by day install the pet cam tonight works pretty cool I can now keep an eye on her....???
