I have 4 sulcatas tortoises about 5", 2 redfood about 6" and 1 box turtle about 6" and I have this turtle about 18 years but I'm not sure what kind of my turtle and what sex is it ? I'll post picture later to let people help me to find out ....I'm still need to learn more about tortoises, that why i'm here

Hi all! My name is Sarah, I have a busy house hold with kids, dogs, cats, rats, birds, koi, and a snake! My hubby and I have been admiring the Sulcutta's in our local reptile store for 2 years now. After lots of research and consideration, we might be taking the plunge at the end of May!!! Red-foot tortoises 2.0.3 - Pumpkin, Zukie, Winken, Blinken and Nod
3-toed box turtles 1.2.2 - Slowpoke, Speedball, Donatella, Adam and Eve
Greek tortoises 1.0.1 - (Zeus and Olive (hoping)
Hermann's torts 0.0.2 - Herman and Annie (again hoping)
Russian torts 1.1.0 - Ivan the T. and Anastasia
Elongated tort 1.0.0 - Pan
I also have 2 cats - Bluebell and K2

3 Desert tortoises -Myrtle, BABY Deliliah and Violet
1 African leopard.- Mufasa
I have a GREAT turtle but have got lots more ideas on this sight.
I will post pics soon... My friends call it Tortoise HEAVEN!

Hi,

My name is Richard and I live in Charleston, South Carolina. I own a radiated tortoise that I have had for the past few years.

Besides cold blooded creatures, I love a lot of things including a good scotch and a fine cigar. My wife, Lisa and I kayak, boat, bike and spend much of our time at the beach.

How unusual for a first time tortoise-keeper to choose a Radiated tortoise! What made you decide on that type? I'd love to see pictures of the tortoise and its habitat.

Thanks, I'll post some pics tonight.

A few years ago I had a really boisterous juvenile sulcata and a handful of leopard tortoise hatchlings, but have since sold them to focus on the radiated. I think rads are really well suited for captivity and possess an unparalleled wow factor.
