Hello Natrah and everyone - I have had a rather confusing day today. My dad had to take the car to have some small repairs done, so it can pass its MOT test, and as the garage was a bit overwhelmed, our friend Martin, who runs it, lent him his car for the day. It is quite different, with all sorts of fancy details, and it doesn't bounce about on the little roads here as much, so it was good fun, though my dad wouldn't let me help him drive. We were hoping to get our own car back this afternoon, but it was still waiting for its test, so we have got his much bigger one in the car-port, and it is white, instead of our own smallish black one, so any swallows around will be a bit confused ! We should get our own car back tomorrow - Martin is a good friend, and very kind - he wouldn't lend his own car to just anyone.I would like to have my own car but my legs are too short, really, to reach the pedals. This is the car I would like ! Maybe if I do enough walking my legs will get longer.
Love to Natrah, Jacky and Angel Daisy, and all my forum friends, and I hope that Dickie is ok.

When we first moved here nearly 30 years or so ago, there was much less traffic, and fewer people living in the area. But we often came across cars with very slow drivers, and they were almost always wearing a flat cap like that - they were elderly farmers - it was almost a uniform for them. Some had pipes too, like Zola does. That's who he was modelling himself on, rather than the tv. They didn't usually have a car like this, though.

Good evening everyone!

I'm sorry this short but I am still on the bus back from Rayleigh due to the 7.30 pm bus not turning up! I think that there might have been a broken down bus earlier! Anyway I want to post another photo of another present that my friend gave me today of another tortoise necklace later. I must say there was a beautiful sunset earlier which reminded me of mum saying:

"Red sky at night shepherd's delight!"

Looking forward to seeing Jacky

Goodnight everyone

Well I keep asking if the vet looked in her mouth as I think we have to rule out other things. Think she will have a thorough checkup next week. The specialist vets for exotics are seemingly few & far between here!
I guess they are still closer than where you are 😉
Thankyou Sally & Sully x
I know how you feel. The best exotics vet closest to me is an hour and a half away.
Try driving a 100 pound tortoise with a
Butt problem ( enlarged cloaca) and tell me by the time you get there you don’t need a drink!? 🍷🍸🍹😓🤕
All other vets are sort of familiar with exotics but really don’t help at all.
I recently (4 years ago)… found a “specialist” but it was an hour and a half away.
I feel I have loved 9 lives with all of Sally’s
“Situations” but what they all ended up doing I can do myself from home.
Just as this forum taught me!!!!
Soaks, mineral oil, humidity,warmth..etc…
The only thing that I would use a vet for is
blood work or poop samples.
I have learned my (very expensive) lessons the hard way. 😓

Good evening everyone!

I was given an extra birthday present when I met my friends for dinner tonight. I very nearly shed a couple of tears because Daisy would have been 82 on the 22nd September 🐢❤️.

Goodnight everyone

Natrah and Jacky

PS: The weather has dreadful for most of the day here with me getting drenched twice and Jacky sleeping all day.IMG20240824202712.jpg

Dear Natrah - the weather wasn't too bad today, and I was able to have my walk on the breakwater. I met some nice people who thought I was wonderful - well, of course I know I am, as my mum often says so ! (though she didn't think so quite as much when I bit her chin this evening.) Well, her chin was in the wrong place when I was getting myself arranged to be stroked, so what else could I do !
Lots of love to you, Jacky and Angel Daisy, and all my forum friends from Zola xxxxxxxxxxx

Hello everyone,

Me and Edward finally got done with the move yesterday. Edwards day was ruined yesterday morning as I took him out of his enclousure and put him in a temporary pen while disassembling his enclosure. I guess that is why he left me a present in the car, the first time he pooped in his carrier!

Now he has been burrowed in his humid hide, only coming out to eat and bask. Probably not happy about me moving his water bowl and reinforcing the fence on his ramp. Both were unnecessary changes if you ask him!

Now I still have to find the best spots to forage for him.

Edwards servant ☺️:<3: :tort:

Dear Edward,

Whilst I wish your servant good luck I can understand your frustration! I had a drowning session today and then I did some basking before breakfast. After breakfast I felt so good that I hid under the thistles before leaving Natrah a massive belated birthday present 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💩💩💩💩💩

Jacky

PS: Zola, Dickie and Sherman and also Sapphire (@Cathie G) I hope you're reading this!

PPS: We hope your servant keeps in touch. Good Edward's Servant!
