i'd recommend coupling the bulb with a ceramic heat emitter. i have to do this for my pancakes who like it much hotter than my russians or my boxies.

The new bulbs come in a black box.
Solar raptor is what the new bulb is called .
It has a shorter neck than the old SB100's
