That Pup is gorgeous and focused in those shots. Looks like a Max for Maximus to me.
We had three German Shepards growing up. Candy, was big fierce female she pretty much babysat and raised us. We had two males, Judah and last but not least Rommel. All were Great Dogs!

He's that beautiful (what I call 'old') type of shepherd. :<3: For a while there 'they' seemed to only be breeding that small, strangely angulated type. I'm happy to see such a solid type again.

I don't do well with all the hair that comes with a double coat though (our current crew of 3 dogs only has the single coat...easier for me to keep up with grooming)...and I'd like to take at least one more dog through obedience trials...so I'm looking at Doberman's. They have had the same issue with the breeding of small types with a strange conformation. However, we have found at least one breeder (not to far away) that has beautiful big dogs (with lovely personalities)...so we're keeping in touch with her.

Last show we went to though...the smaller dogs were still winning. I'm not quite sure why...or what the judges are being trained to look for...or if it's all just politics...

No rush though...tortoise first...dog later...;) :tort:

~ Many in the professional work dog community prefer the smaller genetics. I am 6'5" and have always preferred the larger dogs, the dynamics simply seem to fit better in my case. Jake just had his two year vet check and was right at 100 pounds.
