Long story short... I had a stalker that sent me a Sulcata Tortoise (I think it's a Sulcata based on pictures I've seen on the web)

I don't know who to give her or him too. My home won't adjust to a tortoise. What is safe for her or him. But I was told not to keep the gift or it could send wrong signals to the stalker.

I don't want to give a tortoise to anyone that would hurt it. So tips on that would be Appreciated.

Any help or ideas are needed, Please

Can you provide a photo?
If it's a Sulcata, I'm sure you'll find a home here easily.
If its actually a native tortoise, it may have to be surrendered to a rehabber.
I'm very sorry that you have a stalker. That's a strange gift, indeed.

That guy looks super well cared for based on the shell, I'm worried your stalker may have stolen him. Definitely post around on local Facebook groups and Craigslist asking if anyone's missing their tortoise (without providing pictures or specific info). If anyone says they're missing a tort fitting this big guy's description, I wouldn't be surprised

Listen, he or she doesn't seem mean, it plays with my cat and my dogs. I can pet it on the head as long as I move slow. I can play with it's feet. It takes food from my hand. All very quickly, it doesn't know me and I don't know it. So very friendly and kind personality.

Is it possible this might be a stolen tortoise? Have you reported the stalker to the cops? If so, the cops also need to know about the tortoise.

I did and I've been posting for 6 months now, (if anyone lost one). I have taken it to a vet, I have used Calcium powder, It eats Caulfilower, dandylions, carrots apples grapes etc (Hates Kale) Cheaply fed. I've done all the upkeep and I just soaked it yesterday and washed the shell, (That's why it's so clean)

Sulcatas need to be kept warm in the winter. So if it's getting cold where you live, figure out how to provide a heated shelter.

I doubt it's stolen upon the arrest of the stalker, he had a side business of reptile. (In his front yard) That's all I know of the stalker.

Avoid the fruit while you're looking for a new owner.
It IS a sulcata and they don't digest fruit very well.
You should have no trouble finding it a home.
Maybe start a new thread...

Okay, Awesome finally a species. I'll remove the fruit. It loves pumpkins, is that bad?

I have to learn the threads, someone moved my post in here.
