I’m curious if these guys thinks it’s possibly edema
Her tail is also kinda big. I always thought it was just that she was aging and growing. Not sure what’s normal. Maybe I’m stressing too much. Vet visit tomorrow, I think I’ll ask for X-ray, bloodwork & fecal test just to cover all my grounds. If anyone has tips for vet let me know. Can send a pic tomorrow but I’m gonna try and relax for the rest of the evening. Gave her a warm soak and she’s under some soil and leaves gonna sleep for the night.

Can you say whether the puffiness on the neck and the tail has risen suddenly or has it been like that for longer? It might help the vets diagnosis.

Got back a while ago. Rojita got lots of tests done and is now back in her enclosure. She’s wheezing a bit loud but I think it’s because they probed her for that respiratory panel. They told me she was sedated partially so she might be lethargic for the whole evening though surprisingly she’s actually moving around and did a couple laps in her enclosure just now. Won’t know anything concrete til Tuesday.

She’s pretty active this morning! Going to soak her and feed her soon. This coming week is going to be pretty cold here in central TX, with temps dropping to 20 degrees. I bought some insulation padding I’ll be adding to her enclosure this weekend to prepare. Anything else people recommend I buy? Considering buying another space heater for my living room so that the surrounding area staying in the high 70s.

Aw that’s wonderful! She’s taking everything in her stride❤️
That all sounds like a good plan, you’ve been able to maintain 90’s in there, so I’m confident she’ll be plenty warm enough, especially if taking extra steps with insulation and heating🐢💚

I would suggest it's a good idea. The only thing is that space heaters burn oxygen. Make sure that the enclosure is completely closed and everything will be fine!

Electric space heaters will not burn oxygen. Maybe the OP meant an electric space heater.
Yes! I meant electric space heater, for my living room so that the temps don’t go below 78 in the space she’s in.

She was pretty active this morning, did a few laps around her enclosure and ate a bit. She’s been in her hide the last two hours or so. Symptoms are the same. Yawning every now and again and wheezing. If there’s any home remedies y’all know of to just make sure her infection doesn’t decline between now and the Tuesday when I hear from the vet please let me know. I’ll plan to get her in that day for any injections/medications. To just get her started but gotta wait in the meantime.

No, unfortunately there are "magic tricks". Good care (temperature, hydration) and minimal stress are the best supportive measures.

I understand. I have been soaking her consistently, her humidity has been in the 80s and her temps range from 88-91. Still keeping her slightly more warm as she is sick. I figure there was no magic tricks but just supplemental things that wouldn’t hurt.

She roamed a bit more in the later afternoon and ate more. Her walks seems strong, on all fours and carrying her weight well. No limping or dragging.

Current symptoms are:
- wheezing
- sneezing? She exhales quickly
- no visible nasal discharge
- eye discharge
- neck stretching
- lethargic but still active
- yawning
- chewing air? Not sure

I bought a few more things to support with temp control. Right now her thermostat reads 89. Added a few more hides and I think that helps her feel safer. Anyway I know I have been sharing a lot. Thanks to anyone still keeping up with this thread as I’ve been so stressed. Waiting for what the vet will say feels like an eternity.

Any progressions I should look out for that would warrant taking her to the exotic specialist sooner than Tuesday?
