Dear Jacky
I always eat my cherries first because they taste lovely. If dandelions are on offer they are equal to cherries. I haven’t eaten much yesterday or so far today because it’s a bit chilly. We had some hail yesterday afternoon but I was tucked up in my box.
I don’t like being taken indoors & make sure I make a right old mess so I can go outside again. The other night I was still awake & clonking around at midnight. Sue kept putting me in my bed area & I kept coming back out. Since then they have left me in my house with plenty of straw.
I like to hear the birds in the morning & the pattering of tiny feet on my roof. Pete moved my house this morning so that it was in the sun when i came out. I liked that as I didn’t have so far to walk to get to the warmer patches of grass & the concrete path which is where I bask. I hear it’s going to get very warm soon so I’ll make up for not eating then.
Pete says Tank has been moved to another area of the sanctuary so he hasn’t seen him. Sherman of course is still on patrol in his garden.

Bye for now Dickie
Dear Dickie,

Jacky wants to whether both you and George are collaborating to keep Sue and Pete up at night 🤣! I have told her that Seymour and the roosters sometimes wake Marsha up.

I love the picture of the lamb Zola.

Goodnight everyone

Dear Natrah and all - Zola met a group of French people today -they asked if Zola understood French,so Richard said "Mais oui !" (But yes! ) for him. They were very impressed, I think. I haven't told you about the flowers in his conservatory recently -mostly mini roses -a red one, a pink one, a white one, and one which seems to have red, pink and white flowers all on the same plant ! I can't put them on the floor, as he would perhaps try to eat them, and I'm sure there would be unsafe chemicals in there, but he looks at them always when he is on my lap, close to them.
We saw some black sheep today when we went out - very unusual. They were all sitting down together, and wouldn't have made a good photo, but we will try another time. They looked a bit surly and cross, actually.
Love to all from Angie xxxxx and Zola xxxxxxxx

Good evening everyone!

It's been a much better day today and I had a packed lunch whilst watching a WW2 Dakota flying towards France. I don't know whether an airshow or memorial service somewhere but it was spectacular. Anyway Jacky had a long soak and she was tired out afterwards so she had an afternoon nap.

Angie those flowers sound very pretty and your eyesight must be so much better now. Forgive me for asking but was Canada a French colony? I'm afraid my French is very poor although I can also speak Malay.

Chef is that neighbour still there? Dickie and George I hope you two are behaving yourselves. Cathie and Edwards I hope you two are okay.

Goodnight everyone

Yes they are! George has slept all day. He is very snuffly & snoring but it’s all in his nose & throat. I think it’s allergies. He is ok otherwise.
Dickie got a bit of a soaking this afternoon when we had a heavy downpour & I couldn’t find her to put her in her house. Pete found her in the end under a bush.
Sadly we are down to one budgie again 😥 Dusty was found hanging upside down the other morning. Her claw had got caught in a thread on the spiral rope which she loved. Her nighttime place was at the very top of it.
Peter is ok as long as he has his online aviary friends to watch & chat to during the day. The rope has gone in the bin. Such a shame as they had got more used to each other & were comfortable together as long as he wasn’t too close to her. Hopefully he will be ok as a singleton.

Sounds similar to my Penny's, African Grey, Dusty that died Last July, he was at the bottom of his cage, still holding on the side bars with one foot, God bless both their lil souls.....

Thankyou it was Dusty the female who died She was only 3 💔
Dear Sue,

I'm very sorry to hear about Peter. I hope you're all okay.

Thanks yes we are ok. It’s more about Peter budgie really & whether he will be ok on his own. It was quite worrying when I first got Dusty as she wasn’t at all friendly for quite some time but eventually they got more used to each other. I’m not keen to put him through that again so hopefully he won’t be lonely whilst he’s got his aviary friends to watch & listen to. 🤞🙏🏻

Hello Natrah and everyone - Zola didn't get a walk today, as it was very cold and wet,but yesterday he met some Swedish people, who were very impressed by him. They were also very impressed that his dad could speak Swedish ! When he finished at university, he set off to see the world, and the first place he came to was Sweden, where he lived for over a year, singing and playing his guitar at various places to make money. He had a really good time, but he has rarely found an opportunity to practice the language for many years!
Zola also met some Bulgarian people yesterday - a lot of people he meets are really amazed at what a character he has,and how interested he is in everyone.
Love to all from Angie xxxxxxxxx

Dear Natrah -Richard can speak French and German well - and English, of course - but he also knows quite a bit of Swedish and Italian, and can swear in several other languages too ! He has a good memory for words, and has learned the word for tortoise in many languages, by simply asking people what their word is! Tourists and other foreigners are often really delighted when he can say "tortoise" in their own language.
The other day he met an Indian family - two little children and a very fierce-looking father - Richard asked what language he spoke, and he said "Urdu" -so Richard pointed to Zola and said the correct word, and this fierce-looking man beamed all over his face, and it changed the atmosphere completely !

Dear Natrah- we have to go to Barnstaple hospital tomorrow, for a check-up on my eye.I hope they will give me a date for the other eye op too. Then we have to go to the radicchio warehouse, which is some way outside Barnstaple to get Zola's radicchio - he has just about run out. It closes at 1 pm, so we may have to rush! I shall be glad to get home again, as I am quite anxious about the eye check-up. It does seem pretty good to me, but their test instruments may show something different.
How nice Jacky is to give you all these presents.! !
Love to all from Angie xxxxxxx and Zola xxxxxxxxxx
