Google is no longer an asset when shopping Ms Cathie. You will see the same 10 items over and over again.
Duck duck go isn't great for shopping but it will show you new options,

MG, Enjoyed those pancakes didn't you? You use oil, I like that. Congrats on the new puter and thanks for that info on W-11. I have been getting the signs suggesting it but like you, I'm a little more shy about handing them the keys to the kingdom so to speak. I don't need their "free" storage and no one else does either now that a 1-4TB drive is next to nothing~ @ 175 per TB. I use two SSD's internally and one 1.4TB exterior drive for long term storage. The only kicker is that if I want it accessible at all times, I have to have the 1.4 drive on so all my internal searches include it....cause I'm lazy that way. I don't ever need "them" but for data transfer.

I have read about so many "pay by month" stories featuring books, HP printers & car features. Imagine buying something like online books or a printer for your home or very high end auto features on that new car you just bought.....and be stuck paying monthly, every single month you think that you own it! LOL

Audiobooks requires you to maintain a subscription to read the books you thought you owned. Same with HP printers, need to subscribe or "your" machine will be bricked (always buy a Brother printer) and lastly the Sports bikes and cars like BMW and Porsche driving options which can only be unlocked with a rolling paid subscription!
Jeff, Yes, my 18 month old 2023 F-150 Lightning has Blue Cruise, as a subscription, I said, thanks but NO. THAT (subscriptions) was one of the questions I had for the sales person when I was considering buying the truck. I was concerned because they are a "Hot spot" if needed, but There are No fees associated with it, thank god. and . . .
I'll second the Brother printer. I have had several of the ink Jet printers over the years, and the last go around I bought a Brother Laser Printer, so much nicer, and do NOT have to worry about a print head getting plugged. Additionally if your page gets wet, the colors don't run or bleed. I'm on my second set of toner cartridges, and they have been working great, a lil more that the ink jet cartridges, but very lil mess.
Pancakes were great. a treat for me, and still have two for tomorrows breakfast.
I use a Sandisk Extreme Portable SSD for my laptop Back up. Last time I tried to B/u The SSD was not even recognized. did not even show up in my PC. Was going to put a drill through it and recycle it, but wandered onto SanDisk's website for support, turns out there is a 5 year warranty on it, Filed a claim, took 3 weeks, Sent it back, and received a brand new one. 10 months ago, I paid about $90 for it on amazon, now they are about double the price...

I totally agree with doing a brother printer and anything they make like that. Mine is still going strong and it's years old. And yes I hate shopping online. Google inserts it's nonexpert opinions and throws wrong information to me every time. They also use a robot to edit my pictures which I hate also. However I'm pretty sure there's not a single store in town that carries a post sewing machine in my small town. I'll find one.🐢🐢🐢
I have 2 sewing machines, If your interested in a new one, I would consider a used one (sometimes they are hard to give away) and lil $$ on a tune up, by a good repair shop

That's the hot ticket, buying used if you are looking at a high end machine. Those things can run 50 years if maintained. I saw new machines that ran close to $40,000!

We have a winter wonderland outside this morning N. No where near the 8-15"....mord like 3 or 4". I'll post pics when it gets light out.

That's what I think too. Besides that used seems to be the way to go. The new ones are crappy and not what I want. The older post sewing machines are so fun. You can sew anything you want. Anyway you want.

Wow! What temperatures have you got there Jeff? Which state are you in?

Natrah
We are in Maryland, between the Bay and the Atlantic. The coast got hammered all the way up to Massachusetts.

Kerry quilted and I puttered around the house....even called an old friend who I haven't seen in 15yrs. He drove my little car when I got it.....not everyone gets to drive my little car. He and his wife(I wrote his eharmony ad for him) have bought a 2nd home in Southern Spain and will prob move there permanently next year. Good for them. He's the guy that used to teach me my new "British word of the day" at work. Cool to catch up.

I gotta call Ray today. I got a text last night around 8 asking how i was. I responded and asked how he was doing. It's 6am, maybe I should not have stayed up all night with my phone in hand waiting for an answer?
The big guy prob fell asleep.....😅😅😅

On the warmer side of cold this morning. The last couple of weeks has been topsy turvy. January it warmed up, and the snow in the Sierras had started to melt then Iced up, then we got hammered with rain, and nearly 8 feet of snow in the Sierras the last 3 weeks. Not sure if you heard but there was a very large avalanche up near Tahoe in the Sierras. In very bad conditions 9 folks lost their lives in an avalanche, 3 guides and 6 skiers (worst ski accident in California). Ski Patrol had a hard time finding them and took several days to retrieve them due to the weather conditions. Really sad for the family's, Now there are investigations into WHY they were out in such bad weather.
Supposed to rain good the next two days, The Pineapple express is supposed to hit us.
Warm moisture air from the tropics is coming our way, we can still use it. Our avg. rainfall here in El Sobrante, Ca, is about 24" (61cm), so far according to my weather station we have received just under 14" (35cm), we need 10" more to hit "Normal Avg" . The winter of 2022-2023 we got 38" (96cm), THAT was a good snow pack, filled our reservoirs to the brim, and held us over for a couple of years.
Hope everyone is well, and staying warm, over on the east coast . . Cathie G, Jeff K.

Good afternoon/evening all. We've had a beautiful spring day today which was very welcome, I think tomorrow will also be mainly dry but with x few showers, then on Thursday thd heavy rain is back☹️
A couple of weeks ago I saw some snow in the long range forecast for early March - maybe some of what Jeff's had will make it across to us.
I'm having a busy time at the moment. Last weekend we had a family trip to the Wales v Scotland rugby match. Very exciting and we were robbed in the last few minutes (23-26)🫣 😭
Then last Tuesday the council finally gave us a definite date for my nephew's move to his new flat which will be on the 4th but they only gave us the packing boxes on Friday so it's a bit of a rush to get it all done. He has hundreds if not thousands of DVDs and CDs and photo albums!! I've been gradually helping him for a while but he needs a lot of supervision and won't do anything independently - he could, but chooses not too, so I'm getting frustrated with him.
I'm also having to run around looking for some new furniture for him as the new flat has limited storage. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day at the moment. I'm sure it will all work out in the end.
Anyway I'll pop in when I can but TTFN. Take care

I didn't get what Jeff did at all. It was weird though. Here it really only was down around 28 -30 something °f. I was freezing but we only got a bit of snow.🥶 I didn't feel that cold when it was -0. I did see about the people caught up in the avalanche there. Poor people.

Doghouse out of boxes thrown together for the birds as it was beginning to snow the other day....20260224_072551_HDR~2.jpg
It's amazing how well everyone gets along when the fast food joint is small! I swear i didn't notice the little feet on the top piece. I saw them from the deck and only realized they were printed after taking the pic! I even called Kerry to look at the perfect footprints....then she burst my bubble!

Well, that was kind of a bust. Last week they were hyping an Atmospheric river from the tropics (The Pineapple express) starting Sunday eve, through Wednesday. Sunday came and went (sunny skies), Monday came and went (partially cloudy) then yesterday, partially cloudy most the day, then rain last night. A measly .25" (6mm). Hum, so much for thy hype. January and Feb are our most rainy months. We might be in for a dry winter....and Summer

I've been watching true movies about animals. I watched one today I think everyone here would love. It's called Fly Away Home. It's about a 14 year old Canadian girl that becomes the mother of a nest of Canadian geese. She teaches them how to migrate 😊

Or a wet spring. We're getting March winds and it's only February 🤞🤗😘
