Lol thanks for the compliment. Trust me sometimes I feel old. Plus I heard that life is funner in your 40-60. And then it's great but you forget. Lol
But at 29 it passes when you feel old . But when your over 60 your mind is still 25 but your body is stiffer , slower , but you love torts cause they don't often run faster then you !

I can't let this go, there are no bad cats, just cats in bad circumstances. You got to take that from the cats POV, not yours.

The number of homes I visited where the owner would tell me watch out, our cat bites and scratches, and the genuine amazement they had on their face when I walk over to the cat pet it pick it up and have it purring, all as a first time meeting, indicates to me there are many non-cat people who have cats, for some reason.

Even outdoor cats more often than not will risk whatever they think they are risking and walk up to me and let me pet them.

I really wish I could have had that effect on women, but that's another matter entirely. There is that meme out there that if your dog does not like someone you probably should not like them either. For me it's cats.

Yeah, I know this is a favorite species of tortoise thread, but I did not bring that cat indoors.
Hmm, maybe you are using catnip as a cologne? lol
I think some people have cats but don't understand them so they don't catch the clues the cat is sending, which is why they end getting bitten and scratched. I had a cat that was the best cat in the world in my opinion, but the vet didn't want to handle her. She was sweet with me but didn't trust strangers, which I think is a sign of intelligence.

Once I was in a video store, back when people rented videos, and the cashier told the woman in front of me that she had rented the movie before. She replied that was one of the great things about Alzheimer's; you could see the same movie over and over, and enjoy it as new every time.

Making light of Alzheimer's Disease touches a sore spot with me. My mother died from this tragic ailment. I was her primary caregiver during those last year's. I realize that you meant no harm Charlie, but this disease is nothing to make light of in my heart. As always, Orv

Back to the cats, again: not ALL cats are vicious or very good hunters.
A mouse once ran out from behind my fridge, down the length of the kitchen into a crack where the dishwasher fit in. The mouse ran RIGHT PAST my big orange tabby, Julio. Julio just sat and watched it go by, then looked up at me as if to say, "What do you think THAT was?" :)

I completely agree that Alzheimer's is a horrible disease. It has affected people close to me too. I admired the woman for being able to find humor in a terrible situation.

Of the 4 little tykes I have (Sulcata, Russian, Hermanns, & Cherry Head), I have to go with my Hermanns (Mudflap) at this time.
He has THE best personality of the 4 and loves to be handled and taken out for grazing. He's very inquisitive and eats like it's his last meal. :)

My favourite is the Aldabra because they're huge and their personalities so gentle.

My tort is a Greek - much better suited to my lifestyle and location than an Aldabra and I wouldn't have it any other way.

It's like asking me about which is my favourite man. Nobody beats George Clooney, but I wouldn't choose to be living with anyone other than my husband :D

I'm the same, wouldn't want to live with anyone but wifey.
But i'd swap her for an Aldabra like a shot. ;)
