We rescued an Indian Star tortoise but weren’t fully aware of its needs. Four days ago, due to extreme heat, we kept it in an AC room (covered) for a few hours. There was also loud noise from guests. Since then, it has stopped eating, only took 2 bites of cucumber, and makes a sound while eating. The weather is shifting from summer to monsoon. We soak it twice a day in water. We’re concerned and want to understand what’s wrong and how to help it eat again. He sleeps less and keeps wandering in the whole house and hides in very weird spots.

If you show us the picture of tortoise, and enclosure setup, we might to able to help better, how hot is your extreme heat, and by the way, cucumber is not good diet for your tortoise.

Have you had a chance to read this yet? It will help you see quite a bit about care and good keeping practices.

And here is a short thread that would be good for you to read.
https://tortoiseforum.org/threads/can-i-allow-my-tortoise-to-roam-the-floor-of-the-house.175735/

It would also be good for you to stop in here occasionally when you don't have an emergency. I just looked back through your posts and it looks like you only come here when you have a problem, rather than to be here and learn things so that you don't have emergencies. There's a lot of good info here, and everyone cares a lot about tortoises.

*** Please answer the things asked of you above. We need to know to figure out what is happening with your tortoise. Please also post pics of him and the places he frequents.

Grazing Species

Grazers eat a variety of grasses and succulent plants in the wild with grasses making up the larger part of their diet. They may eat fruit and animal protein opportunistically, but we don't recommend deliberately feeding these to your tortoise.

If you feed large amounts of fruit it may cause severe digestive tract upsets, including very loose faeces, and because of the high sugar content it can disrupt the natural gut flora and encourage the proliferation of parasites.
