Good evening everyone!

I hope you're feeling better today Angie and you're a ten year member alongwith little Zola. I bought the three ornaments below at an event here in Westcliff. The event was called 'Harmony' and there were stalls everywhere. Jacky likes them very much but also enjoyed some fresh air in the garden.

I've booked a music holiday in Oxford where I used to go every year until lockdown. I will staying at St Hilda's College Oxford and going to concerts and Piano Masterclasses all over Oxford as well as visiting local nature areas. Jacky will be staying with the head nurse of the vets or possibly with my friend Jenny who she has stayed with before when Daisy led her to the vegetable patch . However first of all I need to book a check up for her which I shall do some time this week and then I shall ask one of the neighbours to look after the flat.

It's been a lovely day today and I hope that Angie and Zola were celebrating. Did anyone see Eurovision. Edward have you been out for a spin and how did Finland do?

I also order live mealworms during the spring. I know how Richard feels the first time I handled them! You get used to it though. I put mine into a plastic box so they’re not all piled on top of each other & to keep them going I’ve discovered they like wholemeal bread which is devoured in a day. I take a handful & put them in various places in the garden otherwise the starlings (&their babies now) will eat them all & the small birds don’t get a look in.

Richard was very worried today, as our robin, who feeds from his hand now all the time, didn't turn up for his breakfast. He thought there might have been a conflict with another robin, and he might have been chased off. There has actually been another rather aggressive robin around., and, of course it is nesting time. After us going to quite a lot of trouble and expense to get mealworms by post, it would be ironic if the robin wasn't around to take them to his family.! However, he did appear this evening, so all is well !

Hello Natrah and everyone - it was another sunny day, so we went for a drive towards the moor, and it was really beautiful. The trees were so full of leaves, and the wild flowers by the roads were wonderful. In one area, there were lots of wild poppies - but they were yellow ! Lots of them, scattered around for a couple of miles - we have never seen them before, except in people's gardens ! We really haven't seen a lot of lambs, though, which is a shame.
Zola didn't get his breakwater walk today, as it was too late when we got back, and also his dad had to do various garden things. Still, he did get a long stroke with me, which partly made up for it!

Good evening everyone!

Angie I'm glad the robin was okay. Robins are very territorial and can fight to the death. I remember them chasing Sparrows and Blue **** around the garden. By the Angie I noticed that the word Great **** washed brushed out in one of your posts.

I managed to book a checkup for Jacky on the 30th May and because the appointment is at 9.45 am it's a long bus journey to the vets we shall have to leave at 7.45 am. I always think of dear little Daisy at the vets and I will always remember her giving the vet a shove. I'm going to be exhausted by the end of half-term because the day before is when I go to the Malaysian embassy so I need to be prepared for that. I think Angie is very lucky to live near the moor.

Hello Natrah -this is the first message I am sending from my new (10 year-old) computer . Her name is Petronella, by the way. It arrived yesterday, and Richard has been spending a lot of time setting it up and transferring stuff from my old computer -I think he has pretty much got it sorted now. It is very similar to the old one,but I'm hoping the adblocker will work, and that it will be a bit quicker- my previous one is 20 years old or more.
Richard didn't take Zola for his walk today, although it was sunny, as he had a lot of planting to do -little planrs he had grown from seed, and others which we got from supermarkets (not from garden centres as they tend to be very expensive there. Our front garden is sheltered and catches the sun, so things tend to grow well there., in pots and hanging baskets as well as flowerbeds. I will send you some photos when they really get growing.

Helllooooo to allll my dear friends!!!!
I don’t get any posts (or emails) telling me you are on this thread any more. I have tried everything I can think of to re watch this thread to no avail.
I came on as I have finally got a moment to myself.
Kiddies () are asleep and husband is somewhere making a right mess of one of the rooms I have just cleaned…
So… here I am wishing you all the best and missing you so dearly.
I can’t think of everything at the moment but some of the reasons I have been missing is:
My car broke down (a gas line is broken?)
My job has me in all different directions
My husband has me constantly setting up things and accounts for him on his phone.
School events and finally….
I think I am ready to have a breakdown!…
from this horrible neighbor of mine.
For example I get up for work at 4:20am….
Yes… I did say am….lol.
And this girl brings her friends in with her at 1:45am banging laughing and carrying on during the week. It’s even worse on the weekends.
So my apologies for not being around for much.
And if I say the wrong things it’s because I have lost myself because of this person.
I am different now and it is noticeable…
I feel it too.
She will be evicted soon but being on section 8 here it takes a while… I am not sure I can last that long…
Ok then…..
again my dearest friends…
Please hold out hope for me as for when I return I will HOPEFULLY be the silly little friend I was in the beginning.
Maybe loosing wee Gary really DID mess me up too?? Who knows…
All I DO know is that I NEED A YEAR OF SLEEEEEEEPPPP!!!!

I hope you're all okay and it's good to see Chef again. Chef I know you miss Gary but we also miss him. Zola did you get out today? I decided it was too cold for Jacky so she enjoyed basking in her enclosure. I didn't mention this last week but I had some sad news in that one of my Piano Teaching friends of thirty-three years has been diagnosed with a brain tumour and last Thursday she moved into a nursing home. I am going to see her this weekend and although she is more than twenty-five years older than me it makes no difference. The last time I saw her she looked very well anyway I better go now.

I am so sorry about your friend, Natrah. I think I have mentioned that Richard's brother, who is in his mid 70s, and lived alone, had been admitted to a care home, after the hospital which was looking after him found it too difficult, because of his wandering out - his new place is very nice, his sister says, but his behaviour has deteriorated, and he is becoming a problem. As Harry is in Canada, Richard can't do anything to help - his other brother is in hospital most of the time, with various serious problems -his sister is in her 80s and does her best with visiting - but it is so sad when life gets so difficult - as you know very well, of course, Natrah.
Zola did get his walk, and met a very nice Dutch lady on the breakwater - of course, Zola was born in Holland, so they were particularly pleased to meet each other !

Dear Natrah - The swallows are busy in our carport, but we haven't had any evidence of eggs or babies yet - and the robin seems very nervous, as there is a rival robin around.
Zola had a good walk today on the breakwater, and met a Canadian lady, who liked him a lot. Yesterday, I mentioned that Zola was born in Holland -I should have explained that for many years it was illegal to breed or sell tortoises of any kind in the UK -there were quite a few older ones around, of course, from before that time. Anyway, breeding and selling them was made legal again eventually, but there were no tortoise breeders in tthe country, so, to get baby ones, they had to be imported from abroad, until more could be bred in the UK. This is why Zola was imported from Holland - he was one of the first ! ! ! Neither of us had ever seen a baby tortoise before, and had never considered the possibility of having one in our lives - but there he was - and we were his from the first moment - love at first sight !
Richard has been setting up and organising my new computer - it is basically just a newer and more sophisticated one than before, and I am keeping the old one on my desk beside it, so I can refer to things on it if need be - there are some things which can't be transferred to my new one, as it uses a different operating system.This one is also oldish, but I don't think I will ever want an actual new one, as I have no wish to do the fancy things that Richard can do on his. I haven't even got a mobile phone yet !

I just want to say that I visited my friend in the Nursing Home and I was pleasantly surprised. We were all sitting outside chatting before she felt tired and we had to go inside. She can only manage short visits and I hope to go again soon.

Dear Angie,
I have some sort of relations in Scotland that has the same problem as Richard’s brother.
They put him In a home and left him there. He always cried out, “I want to go home!”
Said he was crazy etc…
Turns out everyone lived 4 hours away in different directions and his wife could have cared less if he lived or died. She was only there for the money.
Just recently one of his daughters I believe had him moved to a much nicer home closer by and he couldn’t be happier.
He is fine being there so the other place must have been a real …b**ch???
Turns out it was in your news that the other place was CLOSED due to uninhabitable conditions and circumstances….?
It scares me to think of when my day comes…

That’s the best thing anyone can ask for when you’re older and in a place that’s not your home.
It cheers them up and the day seems brighter and YOU will be the one to thank for that.
