Today we took Zola's Christmas photos, the best of which you will of course see when the appropriate time arrives. (We send email ones to various friends and relatives, and also get some printed up for special people, including those who have no computer access ). I have a friend in prison, who is very fond of Zola, and I send photos of Zola regularly - now Zola has a lot of fans among the people there, and I have no doubt they will all want to see his Christmas photo card.! I am very pleased to think that Zola can bring a little cheer to them, whoever they are.
Zola doesn't much like his routine being disturbed, and being cruelly forced to pose for the camera, but I think the extra long stroke afterwards has made him forgive me !

Dear Natrah - I hope the Quakers carol concert went well, and that you are feeling ok. It has been cold and very wet and windy here, but Richard bravely went out for a walk (without Zola today ! ) I am not feeling great - very shaky and headachey - but we have made a start on our Christmas cards, and got some Christmas food in. We don't make a big deal of Christmas - neither of us have family in this country-except for Zola, of course -and we just have a fairly normal day, with slightly fancier food !

Angie I hope you feel better soon. I just want to say that whilst one of the neighbours is still here the other one who was in charge of most of the drug dealing has like he said he would. There are a lot less visitors here so now all we need is for the other one to go.

I didn’t know drugs were involved
Hope the remaining one doesn’t “take over” or get another flat mate. The landlord really should come down hard & get him out. I’m sure the police would be interested in the circumstances.

I'm so glad about your neighbours, Natrah - you will be able to sleep better now ! The tortoise plant is very cute, but I hope it won't be taking bites out of its own leaves!
We have had really heavy rain today - probably the worst I can remember -and the roads and fields are very flooded - you could probably use some of the fields as swimming pools. Luckily, our house is raised well above the road, so we are ok, but it is very noisy and unpleasant. Tomorrow is supposed to be much better.
I'm still feeling very shaky, and I wonder if it is related to my new headache stuff - if so, maybe it will go away soon, when I get used to it more.

Hello again Natrah -the weather is a lot better today, but we had to stay home until the central heating oil was delivered, so we were not able to give Zola much of a look at the sea. However, Richard saw a fieldfare on the crab-apple tree in our garden, and managed to take a photo of it from upstairs ! Also the robin came and took several worms from his hand.

Lovely flowers. I expect most teachers get gifts at Xmas. It wasn’t something we ever did back in the old school days!
The one & only time we have seen a Fieldfare was during that long winter when we had snow a few years ago. It was cold from about Nov to April & 2 Fieldfares were visiting our bird tables. I didn’t know what they were until I looked them up. Once the weather improved they were gone.
I’ve finally finished my Xmas present shopping! Still some wrapping up to do but Pete has done most of it. It’s a job I don’t enjoy!
My people I clean for are testing for covid as their daughter unfortunately has it & she lives with them as their carer. They don’t have symptoms but she has gone back to her own house so she doesn’t infect them assuming they haven’t already got it. I’ll be going Thursday but I’ll keep my distance just in case. They have had such a tough year so I’m hoping they will be ok.

I’m so glad you & your neighbours have finally got some peace.

Hello Natrah and everyone. We have had some really bad weather here - wind and heavy rain - and really cold. Still, Zola is getting some extra attention,so he is happy - which is what matters most. Today I got my first Christmas present -a blue badge for the car, which will make a huge difference, as we will be able to park much nearer wherever I have to go. I didn't know whether I would be considered disabled enough to be given one, but when I finally applied, it came very quickly !

All ok thanks Natrah. The daughter is in her own house still recovering bless her. The elderly parents are negative so far so good

We are off on our festive steam train meal tonight. 5 courses which is a belly buster! I usually only manage 2 but the mince pie & coffee is considered a ‘course’ so I might manage a bit more. I’m the only one between the four of us who likes mince pies but I won’t be eating 4 so I’ll bring them home
As much as I dislike cold weather I’m hoping for some colder temperatures for Dickies sake. The thermostat on the hibernation box has stayed between 10 & 8 degrees, mostly 10 & Dickie has moved in her box. She hasn’t moved far, just turned round slightly but I am monitoring her.

Angie i do hope you soon get some reprieve from the headaches. It is disappointing the injections haven’t made any difference yet I expect you’ll have a review in the New Year. I’m sure having a disabled badge now will be a big help.

On my way to Xmas lunch at Rayleigh Lodge. Angie I hope those injections do work and I'm pleased you've got the Blue Badge. Sue that steam train sounds wonderful and I hope you all enjoy yourselves. I don't have any problems with mince pies.
