Good evening everyone!

We've had a busy day! My enclosure was cooler today but I was still able to eat after my unnecessary drowning session! Natrah went out for a meal last night at her favourite Tomassi's restaurant and she also went out to lunch at the Cliffs Pavilion today but when she came back unpacked my new Pet Carrier and set up for when I got into to start my hibernation before going into the fridge.
.
GGGGGAAAARRRYYYY it's going to hear from you but I hope you don't get to stressed from noisy neighbours. I also hope your mum feels better. Zola how is your fire now that chimney has been swept. Bet you had a long stroke. Edward, Dickie, Sherman, Sally and Squirt how are you?

Goodnight everyone

Dear Jacky - my fire is great and yes, I did have a lovely stroke today. My mum was very pleased, as I had been getting a bit silly attacking her shoes, but once we sat by the fire, I got very quiet and still, and just relaxed and enjoyed a lovely long stroke. The weather is horrible today - really wet and windy - a big branch broke off our eucalyptus tree, but luckily didn't damage the window near it, or the roof. It is still very windy now, and I don't think tomorrow will be much better - and it is cold too.
How nice for Natrah to have all these lovely places to go to eat - my mum and dad hardly ever do that - in fact, my mum is still waiting for a good day to go toTorquay for her birthday fish and chips ! My dad does all the cooking, and he is very good at it, so she doesn't mind. She washes up !
I think the weather is going to be pretty bad here tomorrow again, and I don't think we shall be going out very far.
Lots of love to you and Natrah and Angel Daisy, and to all my forum friends from Zola - and Angie too xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Good morning everyone!

Zola you're right it's awful here and Jacky is still fast asleep.

Natrah
So is Dickie.
She came out yesterday, having not been out for a couple days so she had a good soak to hydrate her ready for hibernation. Probably not going to be many more opportunities now. Very sleepy girl

Is everyone ok???
Oh….yea… and it hit us kinda hard when we had to say goodbye to Nilo..
Sorry if I am hurting anyone by saying that.
Pretend I didn’t say it out loud.
I have been busy with uni and there isn't much to update. I have decided to keep Edward up this winter and his urates are still gritty from time to time. I have been thinking about ways to keep his diet varied.

Saying that about Niilo doesn't hurt me. It makes me feel good that he mattered to more people than just me. But I feel sorry for you. I have felt stupid crying over a snail, so at least I am not the only one.

Oh, Niilo mattered to other people here too - me included. I think when you have a tortoise, you get to be more aware of other living beings which are very unlike us in many ways, and come to respect and admire them for what they are. And you loved him, which is reason enough to cry about his loss. Now I'm crying too!

Hello Natrah and everyone - the weather has been quite cold and unpleasant today - my dad has been doing a lot of sawing up wood for my future fires. We went out to look at the sea, and it was a really dense grey colour - and the sky was the same but a bit paler. Not a day for walking on the breakwater, so I stayed at home and made sure my mum gave me lots of attention. She says that sometimes I have a sort of pleading expression, which makes her pick me up and cuddle me for a long time - I know just how to manage her !
Goodnight from Zola and love to all my forum friends xxxxxxxx and love from Angie too xxxxxxxxx

Good evening everyone!

I hope you're all okay and that your not flooded. How's the weather in Finland Edward? Zola I can't you getting out of you've had the amount of rain that we ended with today and Sherman how are you?

The day seemed to be fairly dry allowing me to go out and do some shopping and to have lunch in Tomassi's (including an ice-cream called Bingo Bingo see below). When I got back it was still dry but by the time I left the shop some roads were flooded! Anyway I got back here and found that Jacky hadn't moved or touch the food that I gave her so I am going to put the thermostat back up to 26 degrees Celsius (it was 24 degrees Celsius) today because I want to encourage her to hibernate but not that quickly! However I will start to shorten her day a bit more and stop offering her food. She is gradually going off food anyway.

It was my younger nephew's birthday yesterday and my sister-in-law and I sent a few texts (I tried to phone the previous day). I mentioned Jacky but sad to say they never asked how she was or whether she had contracted TB.

Goodnight everyone

Natrah, Jacky and Angel Daisy

Gosh did you manage to eat it all?!
No news on Sherman as Pete didn’t go there on Saturday. I expect he is ok though 😊
It’s rained most of the last 2 days but so far no more flooding but the rivers are all very high.
Dickie hasn’t come out again today & remains tucked up under the straw. This is her normal thing leading into hibernation so not worried.
You sound quite confident with Jacky having done it successfully last year. It is a shame there is no interest from either of your brothers or their family.
Never mind, we love you Jacky!

Goodnight all

How's the weather in Finland Edward?
We were supposed to get snow last night, but I don't think it snowed. The night temps should drop down to freezing between Thursday and Friday. It has been about 10C during the day for the past few days.

Some buildings at my uni are very cold, but my landlord is keeping my apartment very warm, at about 23 to 24C, my bathroom being even warmer at over 25C. I don't have any control of the temperatures in my apartment, which is common here in Finland. But it usually means colder temperatures, as the heating is usually part of the rent and landlords try to save on it.

Hello Natrah and Jacky - it was fairly dry and sunny most of the day, so I was able to look at the sea - it had lovely stripes of pale green and pale purple in it - my mum liked that especially. We saw a Little Egret by the side of the canal - there used to be one every day there for several years - then it vanished - perhaps this is his son.
My dad couldn't take me out this afternoon, as he needed to cut the hedge, and also trim the top of it from next-door.It was really hard work, and Tom, who lives next-door, is no help - he picks up the occasional branch, but he is a very nervous anxious sort of chap - he has been there nearly as long as we have, and we are used to his ways.
Anyway, I have to admit I was cross about not going out with my dad, and spent a lot of time annoying my mum - then, when she settled with me for my stroke, I wouldn't stay still, and pushed her head about, and scratched her face a bit (not hard, though)
I don't mean to be horrible, but now and then it jut comes over me !
Lots of love to you and all my forum friends from Zola xxxxxxxxxx
