Good evening everyone!

I am not at orchestra and I cancelled the pupils. I also cancelled a couple of the pupils tomorrow because although I had a better night I am still under the weather. Sue is Sherman in the shed yet? I shall probably put Jacky in the fridge next week. It looked a beautiful day today but it was cold so I'm not sure if Zola saw the sea but he would have had a stroke with his mum.

Goodnight everyone

Hello Natrah Pete hasn't seen Sherman as he has been working the other side of the building putting up guttering. He does come out sometimes in the cold but when it’s really cold he gets locked in his shed. That’s probably when he starts damaging the walls!
Sorry you are feeling so unwell & hope you soon start to improve. Take care 🙏🏻

Dear Angie,

I think you posted a picture of Dartmoor somewhere but I seem to have lost so I'm wondering if you could please send it again.

Thankyou very much

Natrah

Beautiful thankyou Angie.
Natrah
Of course, the most beautiful bit is the little tortoise on the rock !
I do hope you will feel a lot better soon. Richard has been having a lot of trouble with toothache, but we both have our yearly check-up in a few weeks, and he would rather put up with it until he can see our proper dentist. And I have been very wobbly and ache-y, and am not sure if it's a reaction to going back on the injections again,or if I have a bug of some kind !
Zola is fine, but we have definitely stopped the breakwater walks now - it is getting really cold.
Next week is going to be very busy - the plumber is coming - we hope, to replace our shower. He says it should only take a couple of days, but we will have to move everything out, and make a clear area outside the bathroom door, etc. It has been leaking for a while, and the wooden base underneath is disintegrating.
We are just getting a very basic new arrangement, but with a couple of grab bars on the wall, in case I wobble. We asked him to do it in May, so we have waited a long time !
Lots of love from Angie and Zola, and Get Well Soon !!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Good evening everyone!

Yes I've lost my appetite although I did get to my violin pupil whose exam is on Saturday. I hope you two feel better soon Angie. Zola is the cutest and prettiest part of the photo. I will probably put Jacky in the fridge next week but before then I need to tell you that I saw a Peacock Butterfly yesterday and I hope it's okay as it came out of hibernation. I'm going to get another early night and of course I got one last but I got up at 4.40 am to go toilet and I had trouble getting back to sleep. I know quite a lot of people that do this at night so I'm not alone.

Goodnight everyone

This morning the pond on my way to university was completly frozen. And to my suprise, in the afternoon it was still frozen. I has been supposed to snow for three days in a row, no snow yet. But we did have a slight drizzle of rain on Wednesday.

When I forage food for Edward, some of it is so mushy from freezing and melting outdoors that it can't be offered.

How is the winter approaching you?

Hello Natrah - I hope things haven't been too bad for you today.
I think I have mentioned a robin who has been around our garden for a long time - we didn't see him for a while (Richard offers him mealworms every time when he appears,) but we were afraid he had been chased away, maybe, by another robin. However, he has appeared again, and he will fly and perch near Richard, looking at him meaningfully, whenever he goes in the garden. So Richard has to carry some worms with him all the time - he will put several on his open hand, and the robin will stand on his hand and eat them slowly. If he doesn't appear at once, Richard will whistle to him - (a special sound) and he usually appears - he doesn't like it if Richard is wearing a hat or glasses, though, so he has to take them off, and get his head rained on! When it's getting dark, and I'm in Zola's conservatory with the light on, the robin will sing in the bush outside the window ! I do hope he will be around next spring, and bring his babies to meet us - they are so sweet.
I expect your violin pupil was very glad to see you - I'm so relieved I never have to do exams any more! I hope you get a good sleep tonight, and that you will feel a lot better by tomorrow.
Love to you, Sleeping Beauty Jacky and Angel Daisy, and to all our forum friends from Angie and Zola (who did get a small walk on the breakwater today, after all, as the sun was out and no wind.)

Good evening everyone!

It's been a beautiful day here and I did get out to buy groceries but not to teach. Anyway Edward's Servant I'm pleased to see your feeling much better. How cold is it there at the moment? We are due to have our first cold snap next week. Jacky is still not in the fridge and I imagine that Sherman will be in the shed at that point. I can't imagine Zola on the breakwater eventhough he was probably there today but I do imagine that he had a lovely stroke from Angie. I practiced my pupil's exam pieces today so that my accompaniments will be the best that I could produce and then I went through Liszt's Mephisto Waltz No.1.

Goodnight everyone

It changes day to day, today it i really warm with a high of 8C. Next week there should be a high of 1C and a low of -5C. It is not terribly cold for this time of the year and permanent snow is still having us waiting.

My boiler decided not to work today just as we are going to get an arctic blast ! We have a gas fire & some electric heaters to see us through. Don’t know when gas person can come out & being the weekend can’t contact the company. Hoping the emersion heater is still working so we have hot water. Just such a nuisance as it was only serviced 2 weeks ago but the boiler is old so hope it can be repaired & get us through this coming winter.
Dickie is in the garage where so far the temperature has barely dropped below 10. It will soon though!

Hope you are all feeling much better now.

Oh dear Sue,

Hope it gets fixed soon. When this happened the gas company bought me two heaters from Argos. I'm getting there it is more of a cold now eventhough I need painkillers for my sinuses.

Anyway I got to the exam centre and they were running early so my pianist had already gone in. I helped my violinist set up but the steward came in and called for her so I asked if she could go in later at the allotted time because we hadn't been able to warm up. I accompanied my pupil for the first two pieces, Waltz From Sleeping Beauty' and 'We're Off To See The Wizard' and thought my pupil was okay. However two thirds of the way through the second she started to come apart so I asked for a re-start and when she played it again I felt it was better than when we were warming up ten minutes earlier!

It seems a very mean trick to start the exams early, as students are going to get flustered, obviously, if they don't have time to settle !
I do hope your students get really good marks - when will you get the results?

I don't know whether someone had cancelled but I could tell that my pupil was nervous. It's unlike her to suddenly come apart in that piece like that and I felt that if I hadn't asked to re-start she would have come out in tears but she seemed happy.
