All ok thanks Natrah. Pete hasn’t seen Sherman, he has been shut in his shed as it’s been so cold.
We’ve been looking at beds today. Quite a lot more expensive than the last time we bought one (over 20 years ago!)
Brother in law still recovering from his chest infection. He doesn’t need hospital treatment anymore just steroids & nebuliser.
It’s good you’ve got some new pupils. You are very dedicated & they obviously appreciate you.

I'm pleased to hear about your brother-in-law and I hope he continues to feel better. My friend is continuing to recover from her chest infection but my other friend's husband is still in hospital. He doesn't seem any better and he doesn't seem any worse physically but he is now confused.

Richard says that Keith Richards uses a 5 string guitar, with an open G tuning, but they are much less common than 6 string ones.
It has been cold again today - a clinging sort of cold, but not icy -however, Zola was very lively in the afternoon, climbing about in his room - then he had his stroke by the fire, and he was calm and relaxed from the first moment I held him - he can be so sweet !

Good evening everyone!

I hope you've all had a good day. I've just seen Angie's post and it's interesting that Keith Richards uses a five string instrument. I'd never heard of them before. It's been quite cold here as well but I had an especially good morning because I took some CDs into a charity shop and on my way out I noticed the jar in the picture below. It was the same as the one I lost in storage nearly three years ago. The one that I lost was a birthday present from a friend.

Just arrived home and am now finishing the post. Anyway on the way back from shopping I noticed a couple of Pied Wagtails walking around in the road and whilst I've noticed them in Leigh where I used to live I have never seen them in Westcliff so I was very pleased to see them. I also tried to identify the other very musical birds that I heard further down the road but they wanted to remain hidden.

I'm glad Zola is back to his old sweet self and you must be so relieved Angie. Edward are you settling back into college life? Sapphire how are you Mr Fre, Dilly and Razberri? Sue how is George these days and I hope Alex and the Redfoot are okay alongwith Sally, Squirt and GGGGGAAAARRRYYYY.

I’m glad you’ve got a replacement for the jar that was lost. I wonder, could it be the same one? It’s always worth a look round charity shops.
George is ok thanks. He’s 15 this year. Some days he sleeps a lot (like today) but in the evenings he always has to go out to patrol round to keep other cats away! He won’t change!
Felt quite cold yesterday & today. It’s quite foggy some nights. We had sunshine this morning then the grey sky came over.
It’s only about a month until when Dickie usually wakes up. Hope this year will be better for her.

Hello Natrah - next Friday is a special day for me, as it is the anniversary of the day I was Best Tortoise (instead of best man) at my mum and dad's wedding. I was also their only guest. That was in 2006, and of course they had been together a long time before that. (I'm not sure if you have seen the photos - if not, I will send you some)
Then, on the 29th, it is my half-birthday - and my dad's proper birthday.
It has been cold and dark today, but there were some people in the sea when we went to look at the waves.

I've made a note of those dates Zola and I can't think of any other tortoise being best tortoise at a wedding. It's been pretty cold and dull here and I have complained about the neighbours again. Sue I did wonder the jar but it was placed between to matching vases so it's difficult to tell. I was there again today but I didn't find anything else that resembled the other stuff that was lost in storage however I will never stop looking. I made a lovely curry today following dad's recipe and it tasted exquisite considering I was worried about whether it had enough gravy.

Hello again Natrah - this is me being Best Tortoise at the wedding. I was quite a bit smaller then, as I was only 5 years old, but I behaved perfectly.
and here I am with my mum and dadThere were two ladies there who worked in a nearby office, for witnesses,(and who took the photos)
and the registrar, - that's all.

Zola that's a picture of the happy couple and the best tortoise. What did you all have to eat on that day? It's been very cold here and from the Cliffs Pavilion Cafe I could see a list approaching.

I just did some clearing up today but I also disinfected the Pet Carrier for when Jacky comes out of hibernation so my next task is to test the lights in her enclosure. The tulips have come out a bit more.

Dear Natrah - I don't think we had anything special to eat that day, but after the ceremomy we went with Zola to a local stately home and wandered round the grounds looking at snowdrops - there were lots and lots of them -not like this year, when there are hardly any out at all yet ! Then we went home, and Richard phoned his mum in Canada to tell her he had got married. She was very pleased, I think - I had been to Canada with him to visit his parents previously, before we got Zola -and I think she liked me.

Good morning everyone!

I'm just letting you know that the hygienist appointment went well but the dentist noticed that I'd lost a filling. Funny because the tooth concerned looked like that when we were coming out of lockdown and I couldn't access the dentist. We are just monitoring it because it is a front tooth and not sensitive. Anyway I remember smashing my front teeth into my lip as a child and screaming our then flat down. Mum and dad came racing into the bedroom and brought something to stop the swelling and bleeding.

Oh no! I remember my sister doing something similar when she was a youngster & fell off the swing. I remember seeing blood pouring from her mouth & my dad in a panic as he had taken us to the park!
I have a filling on the front of my tooth at the gum line. I call it a patch. It’s forever coming off as there isn’t much for it to stick to. It is sealed in place. Trouble is you still have to pay the full price of a normal filling when it’s redone even though it only takes a couple of minutes.

Yes I've been reminiscing on another forum about how I used to have a checkup followed by clean but not now and you also pay the earth for it! I remember mum with a filling in her front tooth. Also I feel that my teeth have suffered because I couldn't get my checkups during lockdown.
