Apart from the cooler drowning session I had a relaxing under the now cooler basking lamp. Natrah did go out to lunch at the Cliffs Pavilion as it is also her dad's 90th birthday and then she made her way to St George's Church to sign up to volunteer at the Southend Musical Festival like last year but on the way there she saw a Peacock Butterfly flying about in the rain!!!!!;

Jacky and I had a lovely day yesterday despite but today there was even more. The pupils and had to dodge showers and I wished that I could hibernate with Jacky. Hope you all had better weather than us although I would like to think that someone saw Daisy's rainbow.

We have had heavy rain at intervals all day, and it is really cold -however, my new headache injections have arrived ! ! ! I am not starting until tomorrow, as I need to study the process really carefully first, but I am very relieved - my head has been pretty bad, and I'm looking forward to a possible improvement - although I think it will take a while to see it.
Zola hasn't had a proper walk for a few days, but he has been very good about it.

It's been better here today but I wonder if your headaches are partly affected by all the rain Angie. Good luck with the injections Angie but do double check those instructions. You're very brave with those injections.

When I was on my way back from shopping today I saw two Spitfires going over and I assume that they are getting ready to commemorate the Festival Of Remembrance and 80 years since the end of the second world war. Sue I was wondering how Sherman is? When does he go into his shed? Sweet dreams Dickie.

Dickie is definitely asleep, she hasn’t moved now for a couple of weeks. We’ll probably move her into the garage soon as it’s going to get a bit colder.
The lady who runs our village pet shop has some tortoises & she told Pete hers had also gone to sleep about the same time as Dickie, a bit earlier than usual. She put it down to our hot summer then the drop into Autumn temperatures but it’s reassuring to know other torts are doing the same at the same time as Dickie.
Sherman has been staying in his shed more where I expect he’s been bashing about! Pete has been doing repairs to the wildlife area where the mice have been chewing through cables. No doubt Sherman’s shed will appear on his todo list soon

After last night with noisy and chesty throat the neighbours tenancy is due to end on the 28th November. Let's see what happens. Zola and Richard please could you make sure that Angie follows the instructions.

Hello Natrah- how wonderful if your neighbours really are definitely leaving !
We did my first injection today - I got the things ready, and instructed Richard about what to do, as we decided he had a steadier hand, and you had to hold the thing in place for some time. It didn't hurt much, but of course it's going to be a while before I'm likely to notice any difference. I had a lovely stroke with Zola by the fire,which made me feel better after the anxiety of doing the injection. He really does enjoy these strokes, and would happily continue for hours, I think, ( though he might have a surreptitious wee if we went on for too long !) Normally it is about an hour , and he never wants to stop !

I do believe animals have a “six sense “ when it comes to fear or anxiety and can comfort a person in need.
I used to sit with my Sally for hours at a time when she was little. Maybe 5” long.?
I would put her on my chest when I was laying down watching the Telly.
When we were watching a very scary movie one night all of a sudden my chest got very cold and after a minute or two I began to feel wet….?
well….
Let me tell you …. Sally had managed to fall asleep from all of the stroking,
that she
“Let herself go”.
I had pee AAALLLLL OVER MY TORSO ONTO MY BED AND my shirt was soaking!
I can laugh about it now but back then I was so mortified that I had to take another shower and missed the rest of the movie!!
Now that she is at 100lbs I can’t see her sitting on my chest let alone the amount of pee that would probably soak right into my mattress and through the floor onto the ceiling below!!
Eeeeewwwwww!!!!!!

Yes I think that animals have a sixth sense because Jacky woke up from hibernation on the day that Daisy was put to sleep. This allowed her to say goodbye and it was so good back from the vets and give her a cuddle. She was there when family weren't and I remember phoning my youngest brother's partner and updating her about Daisy. They knew that we would have to get the bus past their studio and they decided to leave incase I dropped by on the way back.

Good evening everyone!

Jacky is having to say goodnight a bit earlier because she had a cold soak today before going into a cooler enclosure. She is less active although she still does a bit of basking. It has been much colder today and I've had the heating on quite a bit. Angie I hope you're feeling some benefit from the injection and I myself seem to have more of a cold rather than the usual sinus trouble. Sue and Angie has was the weather where you are? Chef and Edward what's it like where you two are?

Hello Natrah - the weather has been very unpleasant -very wet and windy,but we all went off to vote, of course. There were two new people organising it, who were very surprised to see Zola, but delighted -usually there are two ladies who have seen him lots of times, and greet him by name.
Zola and I had our usual stroke this afternoon -what happens is that I go into his room, wearing his favourite shoes, and sit there with my feet on the floor,( on some newspaper) -he will play with them for a while - then he starts getting -er -romantic - and starts rocking up and down on them vigourously -this leads him to produce a huge wee on the newspaper ! ! ! Then it's safe to sit with him by the fire (which is in a different room) -and we can settle down for our stroke.I do cover my front with a towel, though, just in case ! So far, my method has always worked !
I don't expect I shall notice a difference in my headaches for a while -I am trying to cut back on my usual painkillers so I can tell better, but that is easier said than done. My next injection will be in a month.
I hope your cold soon improves.
