Good morning everyone!

Chef I hope you had some sleep. It's very mild here so I just want to say that I hope Dickie's okay. Jacky is still asleep but I noticed that she has moved her foot!

Natrah
Dickie is still asleep. The temperature in the garage outside her box is around 10C but she had already gone into hibernation when she was outside roughly the same temperature.
Has Jacky been moved into the fridge yet? The forecast indicates it will get colder next week.

Dear Natrah and everyone - I am having a lot of trouble with my emails, and Richard was on the phone for ages trying to sort things out this afternoon. If I vanish from the forum for a few days, that's probably why - I was told it will take five days or so ! Zola has had a good day - we went for a long drive around the fairly local area to look for autumn colours, and it was lovely-still not quite over despite the rain and heavy winds. Then he had his stroke with me by the fire as usual - I love the way he pushes himself into what he considers the correct stroking position, then stays almost completely still for a really long time - until his dad comes into the room singing to tell him it's time to go back in his conservatory, and for me to have my supper.
Love to all from Angie xxxxxxxx and Zola xxxxxxxxxx

Good evening everyone!

We're under a weather warning here and the rain has already started! I hope you'll all be okay and I hope you get your internet back soon Angie. Over on Cold Dark Room Edward's Servant says that they only get five hours of sunshine in their part of Finland.

I'm glad that you had a good drive today Angie and I hope you're feeling okay. It's been a pleasant day here although my hairdressing appointment was cancelled. I arrived for my appointment and the hairdresser arrived later and apologised for cancelling because he had flu and had been in hospital. Unfortunately he didn't have my phone number so he couldn't contact me but another appointment was made for IMG20251113121803.jpga fortnight's time.

Anyway I managed to do some things in Leigh including having lunch at Gemma's kitchen and also Lemon Cake. Jacky's still in the pet carrier as I would like the temperature to get down a bit further before I put her in the fridge.

How's George these days is he still jumping on the bed at 4.00 am 🤣?

Goodnight everyone

Anytime between 4am & 7am!
We too are on an amber weather alert & it’s pouring down at the moment. George has been wanting to go out for his usual evening prowl round but he doesn’t like the rain. Mind you if he saw a cat in the garden he’d be out the door like a rocket! He’s going from the back door to the front door in the hope if it’s raining out the back it might not be raining out the front 🙃
It’s only going to get worse from what I heard. The snow word was mentioned for Wednesday. 😯

Can we see a newer picture of George?
He sounds like a hoot to me! 😂

That was pretty heavy rainfall on Friday & our porch starting leaking where the ceiling meets the window. I had to lay towels down as it had run under the door mats.
I first noticed it during the day whilst the gas engineer was here & thought the wet was because he kept going out to his van to get bits & bobs (why don’t they ever bring everything in with them) & was leaving the front door open so he could get back in. The rain was very heavy. After he’d gone I mopped up but more wet kept appearing & it was then I saw it running from the ceiling down the window.
Thankfully the storm has moved on & we are left with a brown wet patch to sort out. Pete had a look & can’t see where it is getting in but it is a flat roof so tends to collect puddles.
Our problem is only minor though compared to some, Monmouth in Wales looks pretty bad. A neighbour in the other corner of our close was sweeping water out of his garage this morning. They had put sandbags down but it still got in. Unfortunately for them their property is at the lowest position in the close & all the water tends to run in their direction.
How did everyone else fare?

Good evening everyone and hello George (you handsome fellow),

I hope the leak can be fixed soon Sue I've had to call the engineer because the washing machine is flashing FO5 which means that the pipe is blocked. They are coming on Tuesday so it's not too long to wait. The weather's been better today but cloudy. I have been thinking of Daisy as it is three years tomorrow and I can't believe it but she's not suffering although we miss her.

Goodnight everyone

I still haven't got my internet sorted out properly, but messages are now mostly coming through, even if they are very very late. We have had some pretty bad weather here, but nothing very dramatic. In fact, the most dramatic thing that has happened is Zola having what we call a "Poo-storm". I'm sure I needn't go into details, but it was very unpleasant. I think it may have been due to his cucumber, which I eventually discovered was going bad- anyway, he seems back to normal - a very small amount of a new cucumber only today - and we had our traditional rest by the fire, and he seemed very happy. Richard had to do most of the floor scrubbing in the conservatory, while I did towel washing and so on - we have all recovered from the episode nowI
Dear Natrah -I have just seen your lovely photos of Daisy -Zola and I still say goodnight to her every night, and if we see a rainbow, we say "Hello, Daisy" every time. She had a very good life, and knew she was loved, I'm sure.
Love from Angie xxxxxxxxxx

Aww thankyou Angie and Zola. Yes we go through a list all the time and I always look for a rainbow after some and think of little Daisy. I can imagine what a mess Zola made 🤣 (Sapphire @Cathie G make sure you read this).

Good evening everyone!

It's very cold here and I have been holding the radiator. It must be freezing in Finland Edward's Servant. However it's nice to see the sun of course three years ago it was a grey miserable day. I did think of Daisy when I looked at my watch at 3.05 pm. The vet fell in love with her as well eventhough he was shoved. Angie I hope your internet is better I have to prepare a parking permit for the washing machine engineers again but that's nothing new.

Goodnight everyone

Natrah and Jacky 🐢

PS: George you be a good boy

It has been really cold today, and Zola managed to go to the coldest part of his conservatory and hide there, while we were assuming he was in his "garage" - a hide which has a heat mat, where he usually chooses to go. He was very cold when he was fished out, and I have spent a lot of time with him wrapped up in my arms, trying to warm him up. I think he will be fine, but unfortunately he doesn't seem to learn very much by experience, so we will have to keep more of a watch over him.
We went to look at the sea fairly early this morning, and it looked lovely in the sunshine, and the sky was a proper picture postcard blue, but we are expecting it to get even colder, and possibly with hailstorms, in the next few days. At least my internet seems more or less ok now !
Hope all is well with you, Natrah, and all our forum friends, from Zola and Angiexxxxxxxxxx

Dear Natrah and all -today we went off to fetch some more radicchio for Zola - the forecasts have not been good, and we wanted to make sure he had plenty for Christmas. It was sunny and really lovely weather when we started on the long drive to the warehouse -blue sky, fluffy clouds, and wonderful leaf colours still
on the hedges and trees - it was a wonderful surprise ! On our way back, however, it started looking rather menacing and grey, and also turned really cold. Still we got back safely, and just in time to avoid a hailstorm!
I think winter is really here now !
Zola enjoyed his drive, and at least we can be sure that when he is on my lap in the car he is kept warm.
Love toall our friends from Angie and Zola xxxxxxxxxx

Good evening everyone!

Below is a photo of how cold it was this morning and also there is a photo of Jacky's fridge showing the perfect temperature for hibernation. Sue have you got snow where you are and how are Dickie, George and Sherman? Edward how cold is it in Finland? Zola please stay in the warm part of your conservatory. It's been a beautiful sparkling winter's day here so I imagine it must be beautiful in Devon.

Anyway I don't get to the pupils today because the whole family had a cold so I tried to do a few jobs here. I went to get the paper and on the way to the shop I saw a jogger in a fleece but he was also wearing shorts 🥶! I then came back IMG20251120081009.jpgIMG20251120002018.jpgand tried to clear the garden before lunch. I did some admin in the afternoon and I also looked for that old job application form for the violin teacher from a couple of months back but I couldn't find it online. Anyway I had trouble with the form and the school didn't really help so my impression of their admin isn't very good and this could be how they aim to continue. I would be better doing more hours at the shop if necessary.

I may not be able to post much over the weekend because on Saturday I am volunteering at the Southend Musical Festival and then in the evening I am going to try and get to the Southend Chamber Music Club concert.

Goodnight everyone

We had snow this morning, for the first time, which eventually became rain - and a very cold wind - not much fun for Zola, as his room can get quite chilly - there are always 2 or 3 areas that are really warm though, for him - just he doesn't always choose to go there. I'm not feeling very well - I don't come into contact with a lot of people,as Richard does the shopping, so I shouldn't catch things much, and I've had my flu and covid injections - hopefully it's nothing really.
Love to all our friends from Angie and Zola -we saw a rainbow today, and said hello to Daisy and Bonus and little Gary, of course xxxxxxxxxxx

We haven’t had any snow just some frost which clears in the morning sun. Although it’s been cold it’s actually quite nice looking out through the window! Dickie hasn’t been disturbed but her temperature in the garage is around 5-6 degrees during this cold spell.
Sherman is in his shed so Pete hasn’t seen him. George only goes out when he needs to but he likes looking out through the door which he expects us to leave open for him! Not for long that’s for sure.
We are hoping the leak from the porch roof has been sealed by the special sealant Pete borrowed from his friend. We had some rain a couple of days ago & it was ok but I’d rather not have it tested by another storm Claudia.
You put me to shame Natrah when you have time off work, you get on with so many things. I am not so motivated especially when it’s cold.

It has been very cold today, and some fairly heavy rain at times, but when we went out with Zola this morning, there was some lovely sunshine. The sea was a wonderful greenish colour, and the waves were sparkling - also the air was very clear - we could see Dartmoor well in the distance.
I have to do my next injection tomorrow - I can't honestly say I have noticed any improvement yet, and I do feel very shaky, but I know it will take time, anyway.
I've noticed that Zola's beak is getting a bit too long, and he will have to visit his friend the vet fairly soon - he doesn't make a fuss about going, but I think we could wait until after Christmas. Henry has an elderly tortoise himself, called Grandma.
I hope all is well with you,Natrah, and that you will enjoy helping at the Musical Festival -love to you and all our friends from Angie and Zola xxxxxxxxxxx
