Good evening everyone!

George U hope you were a good boy today and that the injection isn't too sore. Do you know what day you have your next injection next week? How about yours Angie. I noticed Dickie is rearranging her enclosure. My day started with me cradling Jacky and then I put her back in the enclosure to get her breakfast and when I went back to the enclosure there was a leaking tortoise. Therefore she ended up with an extra soak and I had to clear up before she could have breakfast.

Just reading Angie's message and Zola made the dog walkers day. He must do this to everyone he meets and I love reading about his cuddles. Of course I cuddled Jacky this morning.... You mention about the heating oil Angie I thought there was a possibility about my going to Malaysia to sort out dad's land this year but it's more difficult if you're one of those people who likes to change planes on a thirteen hour flight. Normal stopovers are Jeddah, Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi of course I would have to go via India like we did once before in the 70s! I hope the hostilities cease soon for all our sakes.

Goodnight everyone

George was very good at the vets this week as it was only one injection unlike last week when it was two plus attempted claw trim which had to be abandoned.
Poor George last week they tried wrapping him in a towel with 2 of us holding him, me & a nurse. Still no luck. They then suggested a cat muzzle. Of course I was thinking like a dog muzzle but it was more of a mask with just the eyes showing. I had serious misgivings when I saw it & it had to be put on quickly so the eye holes didn’t actually line up with his eyes. It lasted about 10 seconds & it was off plus his claw caught the nurse on her arm. I said I think we’d better leave it as by now he was so stressed. No claws were cut despite all those efforts.😂
The next injection is next weds with the vet. He is also due his flea treatment so I am going to ask them to do it as with Pete away It will be a bit hit & miss trying to do it myself. He hates that as well 😯

Good luck George. Dickie, Sherman, Tank, Zola, Sally, Squirt and Sylvia, I enjoyed Rocket for the first time this year plus Romaine Lettuce and Dandelions.

Good evening everyone!

I hope you're all okay below is a picture of Jacky after I put her in the bathroom for five minutes to clean her enclosure. It's been a nice day here and I went to the pupil's concert and I did think of my friend. Anyway the dozen young Pianists all played very well and if there was another local concert maybe my pupils could take part. I walked back along the cliffs and then I had sandwiches and cIMG20260322184118.jpgake near the Cliffs Pavilion. I bought special cake as it would have been Nana's birthday tomorrow.

Goodnight everyone

Good evening everyone!.

Just a short note because I hope you're all okay. I'm okay but I wondered what I was going to come to because a switch in the fuse box decided to turn itself off before I left and it affected the boiler, washing machine and others. Anyway the neighbours switched it on again because I have trouble getting up the ladder. I don't know whether living near a railway line affects the electricity but last year's issues could have been dodgy.

Goodnight everyone

PS: By the way when the clocks this is what I will up with. Jacky will be up earlier and I will be in bed listening to banging and shoving 😂

Dickie gets up around 9am & once she’s warmed up all I hear all morning is her banging about, paper being moved & lifted over the water dish & herself buried underneath the chaos! That’s when she’s ready to go outside but I have to delay it until the chill has gone from the air. It’s going to get colder again mid week so it’s not looking too promising.
Have spent a lot of time sorting out cages & the budgies are in together now in a much larger & better cage. The new bird Dusty still doesn’t do much but at least she is eating millet now whereas she wasn’t eating anything before. She spends her days sitting next to the millet & only moves if I need to open the cage to refresh the water or something.
He sits near her & wants to be friends but she’s not interested! If he gets too near he gets pecked. Oh dear, I hope she gets friendlier towards him as I wanted him to have a happy companion not be henpecked. I think females are the boss in bird world 🫤
George is being a good boy & tolerates all the shenanigans.

We are very lucky that Zola almost always stays in his sleeping box, wrapped in his towel and covered by his special crochet blanket (made for him by a little admirer many years ago). His dad wakes him up in the morning and carries him through to his room, where he has his basking lamp and warm cave, etc. We keep his box near the bedroom doors, so that we could get him quickly in an emergency, but he never tries to get out -occasionally he might scrabble about a bit, and then I wrap him up properly again when I say goodnight to him,on my way to bed.

Edward usually wakes up to his lights, but depending on where in his enclosure he is sleeping he might wake up to me moving around about 30 mins before his lights turn on on Tuesdays as I have to wake up earlier on those days myself. He puts himself to sleep before his lights go off, sometimes earlier, sometimes later but it is rare for him to still be up when his lights have gone off.

His sleeping schedule went a bit off once, but I think it was due to construction next door:

Also, when the days get shorter in the fall he tends to go sleep earlier every day, but thus far I have managed to reverse it and keep him up for the winter.

Good evening everyone!

Jacky wasn't affected by the 'power cut'. It was just a corner of the kitchen with the boiler and washing machine and a power point. There haven't been anymore power cuts today and Jacky has been very active. The day's been okay apart from a car being driven when I was letting my pupil out of the shop. I don't think he saw my pupil and her mum but I did something that I probably shouldn't do and I told him off. What I should have done was take his number? If I recognise the car again I will do so.

Anyway I hope everyone's okay and that Zola got to see the sea. Below is Jacky tucking into Spring Greens for the first time this year.

Goodnight everyone

PS; Good luck at the vets George

Good afternoon Zola, Dickie, Edward, Sally, Sherman and Tank,

I tried to see what was under the carpet strips in my enclosure but I couldn't find anything

Good morning George,

Please do your best with the vet!

Jacky 🐢
He is fairly submissive when he goes to the vet but his tolerance is short lived. He was good with the vet but wasn’t friendly towards a puppy in the waiting room after I’d said he likes dogs! It was the puppy’s first experience of a cat & they asked if they could bring him over. Oh dear hopefully the pup will meet friendlier cats 🤭

The weather today has been weird, very windy with hail/snow showers then sunny spells but pretty cold. No chance Dickie could go out today. That’s 2 days now without eating. I hope it gets warmer soon.

There was quite a bit of snow on Dartmoor yesterday, and we have had some spells of heavy rain mixed with snow today - I think that's what is happening at the moment again as I write this ! No breakwater walk today for Zola, but we did manage a brief trip to look at the sea. It is reallly cold, too.
When I described Zola's sleeping arrangements the other day, I forgot to say he actually goes to sleep on my lap, wrapped in his sleeping blanket, almost every evening while we watch tv, and doesn't really wake when he is transferred to his box. I also didn't mention that he has several soft toys round the sides of his box, which form a little nest for him. And -if you watch South Park on tv, you'll know who I mean -he is guarded by a large toy Mr Hankey, the Christmas poo ! !
Love to all from Angie and Zola xxxxxxxxxx

The weather today hasn't been great, but not as bad as yesterday, so Richard went out with his camera to look for lambs - we haven't seen any near us at all. He will try again, with his long-distance lens next time (which he forgot to take) as he could see more in the distance. But there are few things cuter than a baby lamb !
I had an arranged phone call from the hospital this morning to discuss my headaches, and I am now getting another 3 months supply of my injections - my headaches have changed a bit, rather than improved, but that does at least show something is happening !

Good evening everyone!

Just want to say that I am here it's just been a funny day with no gas at one point but it's all on now. I'm glad everyone's okay but I hope that Angie's headaches start to improve. I had no gas at one due to pressure after a gas inspection. My blood pressure also went up as well but everything is okay now. That picture looks lovely now. Hope George is okay. Jacky and I could be going on holiday again.

Goodnight everyone

Natrah, Jacky and Angel Daisy

PS: A kind has given Jacky a mass of dandelions!

Good evening everyone!

Just waiting for the bus. The morning started bright enough and then descended into showers with my washing on the line. Edward have you had much snow only I've been hearing about snow in places like Croatia and as Angie says there's been some snow in parts of the UK. Sue I hope George is okay. Angie did you all get to see the sea today? There is a thread about dandelion massacres and of course Jacky ate all of the neighbours dandelions that I gave her today whilst making a massive mess!

Goodnight everyone

Hello Natrah - we did briefly go to the sea, but it was rather windy, and quite cold. We have been trying to economise on heating the house - it is oil-fired, and we don't have a great deal left (we were just thinking of refilling the tank when it became unavailable ) We don't use it at all in the summer, anyway, so I hope we will manage. We have an electric water heater and Zola's fire - and a gas hob,run on bottled gas, so we should be fine, really.
Richard has just bought a second-hand mobile phone, which is much more sophisticated than his current one, so he may be able to take some good films of Zola on his breakwater soon. ! I haven't got a phone, as we still have our landline, which is all I need - I have my computer, of course !
I hope all is well with you
Love to all from Angie xxxxxxxxx and Zola xxxxxxxxxx
