Good evening everyone!

What was meant to happen this evening:

I was meant to clear Jacky's enclosure before getting her in and saying goodnight and then I was meant to wash up and settle down to watch 'The Good Old Days' on BBC 4.

What actually happened:

I cleared Jacky's enclosure and I brought her in and I started to say 'goodnight' to everyone. I got as far as 'Goodnight Daisy' before noticing a leak. I put Jacky in the enclosure and rushed to get the soaking tray. Put Jacky in it and rushed to clean the enclosure, put Jacky in, clean the soaking tray and then clean myself (clothes were put straight in the laundry). Put the TV on after the programme and settle with a drink without washing up.

Goodnight everyone

Natrah, Jacky and Angel Daisy

PS: Sorry we couldn't go through the list together!

@Chefdenoel10 you don't want to miss this!

PPS: Soaking day tomorrow!!!!!

Good evening everyone!

That's a brilliant photo Angie and Richard is an excellent wildlife photographer. I managed to go out to lunch but it was colder today not like yesterday which was warm. Anyway I spent most of the morning clearing up again after yesterday's 'accident' and Jacky needing two or three soaks🤣 (@Chefdenoel10 and @Cathie G).

I just want to say that at my friend's therapy gardens where she volunteers they had a May Fayre with Morris Dancing, Maypole Dancing and stalls. One of the stalls sold crafts with ornaments similar to my turtle and tortoise collection. I had a chat with the stall owner and we got a bit confused when I said I had a tortoise and she thought I was still talking about ornaments because she asked how big mine were and I demonstrated 14 inches🤣! She was also amazed when said that Jacky was nearly 91.

Goodnight everyone we got to go through the list this evening and this morning.

In case you still haven't got it ....
ACROBAT !
It seems a very suitable name, too, when you watch them fly ! Or hang on a wall !

There is an Instagram video of bats hanging upside down but they turned it right side up and played music in the background and called it a “gothic dance club”. 😝🤣🤣🤣

Good evening everyone!

My old school friends from Malaysia sent the videos below:

One of them shows bats hanging in a tree somewhere in Sabah Malaysia and the other one looks like it is from one of the islands near the town where I used to live. Anyway the bats are swirling around and the islet on the horizon where nobody lives apart from the Krait Snakes:

Been a bit colder today

Goodnight everyone

Many years ago, I went across the USA on a cheap studenty-type bus trip. It was really good - we saw a lot of great places (and I went on a helicopter ride along the Grand Canyon ) There was one place (can't remember the name) which was a very large cave full of sleeping bats. Our driver arranged us to be at the entrance at exactly the right time (getting dark) - and suddenly the air was full of thousands of bats swooping out of the cave - it was a very impressive sight !
It is really cold, though sunny, today, and very windy, so Zola will not be going to the breakwater. He is usually pretty contented if at least one of us is in his room with him, though.
Love to all from Angie xxxxx

Good afternoon tortoises,

Like Zola we've had very strange and cold weather here. It's been very showery but unlike where Edward is we haven't had sleet thank goodness. Natrah and I hope that Zola, Angie and Richard are warm enough as we are concerned about their heating oil. Anyway I just need to tell you all that when I am given strawberries I normally gobble these up before anything else.

Bye for now

Jacky, Angel Daisy and Natrah

PS: Dickie I hope you do this with your cherries and has Pete seen Sherman and Tank?

Dear Jacky
I always eat my cherries first because they taste lovely. If dandelions are on offer they are equal to cherries. I haven’t eaten much yesterday or so far today because it’s a bit chilly. We had some hail yesterday afternoon but I was tucked up in my box.
I don’t like being taken indoors & make sure I make a right old mess so I can go outside again. The other night I was still awake & clonking around at midnight. Sue kept putting me in my bed area & I kept coming back out. Since then they have left me in my house with plenty of straw.
I like to hear the birds in the morning & the pattering of tiny feet on my roof. Pete moved my house this morning so that it was in the sun when i came out. I liked that as I didn’t have so far to walk to get to the warmer patches of grass & the concrete path which is where I bask. I hear it’s going to get very warm soon so I’ll make up for not eating then.
Pete says Tank has been moved to another area of the sanctuary so he hasn’t seen him. Sherman of course is still on patrol in his garden.

Bye for now Dickie

Dear Natrah and all - my dad had to take the car for its service today, so I was left with just my mum for company. I was very good, and ate my breakfast (which my dad usually feeds me), and kept her company, but it rained very hard and noisily on my conservatory roof - and it was really cold ! My dad finally got back, and we went to look at the sea, which was quite dramatic -big fierce-looking waves ! My mum gets quite excited when she looks at the sea now with her "new"eye -she can see the colours of the water much better, and the waves and foam are much clearer now.
Then it started raining - with a lot of hail, too,so we came back. We have a lot of little plants in the garden, which my dad planted, and we hope the hail won't squash them -luckily it didn't last long.
By the way, my mum has her eye check-up next Wednesday, and she is hoping that she will be able to get the op on her other eye soon after that.
Love to everyone from Zola and Angie xxxxxxllll22.jpg
