I know that quite a few folks really like Tidgy's dad, but he's said a few things in the past that make me think he's not really the right person for the job.

I love Tom, however, there are quite a few people who harbor resentments towards him, and he really doesn't know how to be diplomatic in certain instances. (Sorry Tom)

What do you all think about hermannichris?

I would like to see someone from one of the other continents elected. How about that Lyn person? I can't think of her username, but she and Adam get on a roll with the puns. She seems to have a lot of knowledge and seems to be easy going and diplomatic.

Steven (bouaboua) has a lot of common sense. He would make a good moderator. But when he's in China, his internet connection is very slow.

@Lyn W.

fair and valid points miss yvonnee.

I'm honored that someone would even suggest that, but I simply don't have the time and I'm probably too hot headed anyway.
I also suggest @Tidgy's Dad. Adam is a very good ambassador and he has a unique sense of humor. After all, we don't want all moderators to be cookie cutter replicas of the next, do we? Also, he has the time and he is in a much different time zone and is available while our American counterparts are fast asleep.

tough one! knowledge wise i would say chris or adam... guess adam would have more time to mod than chris and is on different time zone. lyn, aslo a good choice however I know works alot so may not have the time to spend?

then again, ed... @ZEROPILOT, perfect excuse to retire here! ;)

it should be for the grater good rather than popularity though, just my thoughts for what there worth, but all of the above I've found very helpful, knowledgeable and passionate:)

We all have a certain moderator that is our favorite, don't we? And maybe one that we don't find so helpful? Being honest here.
I think that Adam would be appreciated by MANY. And he has the time!
I wanted to apologize for the cookie cutter reference because I am very thankful for the work that every moderator does!

:)Thanks to those who mentioned my name, very sweet of you!.:)
For me HermanniChris would be an ideal choice, if he could find the time.
Conflict of interest, The Turtle Room is a TFO sponsor, Yeah?, did I miss something in current world affairs? If he were a paid Testudo Consultant then he'd get my vote.

AnyFoot seems to have time, IMO, and (s)he's often got a good sense of what the question is and how to answer it.

Otherwise I'd seek a newbie who has a good sense of fairness but not maybe so much chelonian expertise. After all Yvonne, that's how you have developed.

Thank you very much for the nomination Yvonne, John, Ed and Gillian, I feel honoured that you think so highly of me, but I have only had a tort for just over a year and most of my advice is based on repeating parrot fashion what I have learnt and still am learning from many more experienced folk here.
Also with full time teaching I'm not able to spend as much time as I would like on the forum and sometimes have to ban myself to make time for my work! So sadly I will not be able to accept the nomination.

There are many worthy people here that would be great for the job, but I think that as there are many UK and European members, it would be very useful to have a moderator in a different time zone to the US, which is why I think Adam (@Tidgy's Dad) would be a good choice. He is very diplomatic but straight and has time.
Good luck to all nominees!

Thank you David, you give me too much credit. I'm still too young in raising tortoise as pet and when I'm treval to China for work, I have limited access to the forum.

I'm grateful that I'm joined this forum and learn so much here and to know lots great people and become personal friend, that is priceless.

Steven, you do not have to be on all the time. The time you are able to would be a great benefit for the forum. You do not need to have been in tortoises forever. It is not about knowledge, it is about trying to keep the forum running smoothly (trying is often the key part).

I think you would be good and please rethink (and read the reasons above about Steven)
