That bulb should be okay.

I like the infrared temp guns too, but I like to check temps using both methods. Just my preference.

I'll definitely be raising the lights in the new enclosure I'm going to have to build a platform for the bottom level so I can bring the substrate up to where it needs to be otherwise it would take me 10 to 15 bags of Orchard bark with the platform I can stretch it to about six to eight bags

What type of basking lamp?
UV? What type of bulb, how close, how many hours per day?
Do you spray the carapace?

Depends on the bulb. You need a UV meter to set UV tubes at the correct height, and a thermometer to set the bulb height for your flood bulb. Every enclosure is different.
