These would be from Brazil as most pure- line CherryHeads are. The unique shell coloring is a variance in the color of Keratin produced ( or lack of in this case) This “gene code” for this particular animal will remain with his/her generations. I would take a wild guess and say , it could be an evolutionary type thing as most animals with broken patterns have developed that way to camouflage within the surrounding area in which they reside. A hypo animal or solid colors will stick out and become easy targets as they don‘t blend with the natural color surround….

Both Kelly ......I had the female for some time ...the male I just recently aquired.:D

They are so gorgeous! Did you get the male from the Tampa area? I saw him advertised for sale but by the time I contacted the guy, he was gone gone gone.

thats almost a 50/50 ratio of white to pigment...... I will be watching closely for hatch photos :)
